1. I confess that I had part of this post drafted for a totally different post from last week but Kiya got really sick on Friday and the post never got published. I was scared that she wasn't going to make it and admittedly got completely distracted. I am happy to report that she is doing just fine!
2. I confess that I have been adding artwork to Robert's lunches. This one from last week was my favorite response however. It is supposed to be a squinty face with tongue out.
3. I confess I got a real kick out of the UPS guy making a tower of our packages. It's like they are their own little Christmas tree!
4. I confess I had a really great time last week at the play date. I loved getting to hang out with another mom and Kyra had such a good time playing with her girls! I hope we can continue to meet up and hang out because it was really wonderful to hang out with someone who gets that you will be interrupted at least twenty times a minute. 5. I confess that I have had this song on repeat since I heard it last week. I love it.
I confess that pretty much anything musical will get stuck in my head.....for years.
I confess that while driving the other day I suddenly remembered all the words to Walker Texas Ranger's opening theme. What is that? WHY?
I confess that because of setting it to a musical rhythm I can say the alphabet backwards without any trouble at all.
I confess that I was in several musicals in high school. I remember all my songs....and all my lines.
I confess that stage makeup and costumes always look slightly frightening....
Little Shop of Horrors Do-Wop Girl---I was Crystal.
I confess that I know the preamble due to School House Rock. Seriously I wish I would have set all my homework to music...I would have had no trouble remembering then.
I confess that musicals are what I prefer to watch while I'm sick. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is my favorite sick day musical.
I confess that I actually got my first part in a musical without trying out. They had a girl quit and they needed a high soprano...so I got a phone call at home that night and they asked if I would be willing to participate. I was pretty flattered and thought Why Not? And thus my school musical career began.
I confess that while writing this I was listening the the Little Shop of Horrors Soundtrack. I can still nail the soprano!
1. Made a super epic hot cocoa of goodness. I had had this pinned for a long time and as you can tell by the title of the blog I am a lover of all things cocoa so I just had to give this one a go! It was as delicious as it looks.
2. Awesome face masks that make you look like a serial killer. I am in love with these Tony Moly masks. They carry them at Ulta for like $6 bucks but I bought a pack of 11 for $9 on Amazon. They look creepy but seriously they feel amazing!
3. Binge watch all the girly shows and movies that he isn't into. It was so nice to just watch what I wanted after the kiddo was down for the night and just enjoy it.
4. Blast my favorite cheesy pop/80s/random music and have crazy dance parties with Kyra right in the middle of the living room. Sometimes you just need to dance it out!
So there's the confessions for the week! What would you all do?
So I saw Lauren post this post and I knew that I had to do one of my own! I present to you:
1. I am a Disney Girl at heart and spent pretty much my entire childhood obsessed with all the classic Disney movies. Sleeping Beauty is my Favorite movie and Belle is my favorite princess. Both of these songs pretty much were sang throughout my childhood.
2. As a tween I became obsessed with the Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, and 98 Degrees. All equally. I don't play favorites. Nick Lachey is still a hottie though.
3. In high school I fell madly in love with drama. Little Shop of Horrors started it all. I was a Do Wop Girl. I hadn't even tried out for the play but I got a call from the drama teacher one night saying they needed a high soprano and I was pretty well known for having a large vocal range and thus began something wonderful.
4. Senior Year I was driving my own car and driving my brothers to and from school daily. They were subjected to whatever I happened to fancy at the time. They both recall this one as absolute torture.
But as Dean Says....
5. I also have an intense love for Classic Rock. My husband loves this fact about me. (This song in particular....my maiden name was Black)
6. My First Concert was at 19 years old and I went with my Dad to see ZZ Top.
7. My husband and my first dance was this one and I still love it.
8. This was also our wedding song....but he and I only played it for one another since we didn't want to offend anyone with the language at the wedding.
9. This song is the one that I listened to pretty much on repeat during my pregnancy and after Kyra was first born.
10. Now my days are once again filled with Disney music. But if we are in the car this is the song that Kyra wants to dance around to.
What songs would be on your mix tape? I'd love to know!!!
Good Morning Everyone, Today I thought I would share with you my October Playlist! Now these are the songs that I listen to pretty much throughout the entire month. Some are Halloween themed, some are just songs that make me think of October...though I have no good reason as to why. Hope you enjoy!
I really wanted to embed all the music for you all but it just wasn't happening and I thought it was too many for YouTube videos. If you see a song you haven't heard of I did make sure that all of them had a video on YouTube so you can check them out there!
Do you have playlists for specific months? Songs that remind you of a certain times of the year? Let me know in the comments below!
I try to get in my 10,000+ steps every single day. My Vivofit helps keep me on track but unfortunately in order to get those steps I actually have to...you know...walk. Happy Friday Everyone! Have a great and safe weekend!
Good Morning Everyone, So I was cleaning out the basement yesterday (2015 is the year of the purge. I have gotten rid of so much stuff!) and happened upon my MASSIVE CD case. This was way back when CDs were cool and MP3s were not even really heard of yet. Anyhow I took a browse through my case only to come across this gem:
I had no idea what was on this disc but apparently they were my Jamz (oh that z....) and I thought...hey wouldn't it be fun to show the entire world how ridiculous my taste in music was in high school? Thus this post was born.
Now I popped this thing into my computer and fired it up. I knew it was going to be good because of course Grace Note couldn't find the names of the songs. So I had to identify them myself as I listened along. Awesome. Here's the playlist (don't judge!) 1. Birthday- 50 cent 2. I Do- Toya 3.Young'n- Fabolous 4.The Whole World- Outkast 5.Gossip - Missy Elliot 6.Work It- Missy Elliot 7.Separated- Offspring 8.Fly for a White Guy- Offspring 9. Perfect Day- Offspring 10. Original Prankster- Offspring 11. She Hates Me- Puddle of Mud 12. Skillz- All For One 13. Feuer Frei- Rammstein 14. Let the Bodies Hit the Floor-Drowning Pool 15. I will be heard- Hatebreed I can feel your judgement.
It's okay. I was a weird kid and had strange taste in music, but basically I just liked about any genre as long as it sparked something. A lot of these songs were to get me going for a cheer-leading event or to help me write story scenes. I admit freely that some of them are ridiculous and yes I shook my head more than a few times in absolute shame for my younger self, but hey it is what it is!
Still have any of your old mixes from high school? Would our musical tastes have been at all similar? Let me know in the comments!
