First Confessions of the New Year

1. Books have been on point this month! Seriously I have powered through five books this month and four of the five have been amazing. I am so happy that I am ahead on reading because last year I felt like I kept putting reading off for other (non important) things and this year I am trying to make sure that I am reading and taking time for myself to just sit quietly. 

2. I have a cart full of stuff from Sephora. I have not purchased any of it yet but I come back daily and look at my cart and just kind of wistfully sigh. I do have a gift card but I am terrified that I will end up buying something and then something EVEN BETTER will come out and I will miss out....which is ridiculous. I am ridiculous. 

3. I also really want this whole collection from Sinful Colors. I adore Kandee Johnson.

4. I have been looking into forms of passive income to help out. It is just so overwhelming. I honestly go between suggestions that are possibly doable to the same run of the mill junk. I just want to find a way of making a small amount per month so that I can start putting money away for savings and the occasional splurge. This blog makes me 0 dollars a month. I'm not a "popular" blogger and honestly that is okay but I do wish I could be a "successful" blogger who makes this a full time job. The issue I have found however is that each time I look into the blogs that make money it is always the same generic nonsense that I don't even read. I actually read one blog that was like "You aren't going to make money if you just talk about your dog and your kids. People want to know how to lose weight, where to shop, blah blah..." and I cringed. I just can't seem to get behind that at all. My blog is my favorite place to share with you all...

5. I have also been feeling a little lost in life. I want creativity and I feel like I have a lot of good ideas but I have TOO MANY ideas. Does that make sense? I was making a list of things I love and I see potential but I am overwhelmed and have no idea where to take things. I just know that I am happiest when I am creating something that will eventually go on to someone else. However my artistic skills are limited at the moment and while I can knit I would still consider myself a novice in this area. I am not sure what I am trying to get out of this confession but I just know that I am lost.

Currently....October

Working On: Catching up on blog posts and working my way through the Show Us Your Books Linkup posts and comments! 


Watching: ALL THE THINGS. Over the weekend we worked through AHS: Hotel which wasn't bad but not my favorite season. We watched Season 2 of The Ranch which I LOVE. We also started watching Westworld which is really intriguing. I started watching This Is Us and so far I love it. Then I started American Housewife which had me laughing out loud. Fall is TV time around here if you couldn't tell and I am very excited that none of these shows featured a princess named Sofia, a pig named Peppa, or a duck named Quack! 

Reading: Just started Bad Girls Don't Die. Too soon to tell on this one if I will like it yet. Not bad so far. 

Loving: Lush! The other day was my first time purchasing anything from there and I am so thrilled with what I got! I will admit I was bummed I missed out on the Halloween ones but I really love the smell of the Christmas ones! Lord of Misrule smells so nice my husband even swiped some! And the Raspberry Jam bubble bar made about a million bubbles and it was so relaxing! Will for sure be buying from Lush again soon! 

Wanting: This set from Sephora. Totally going on my Christmas/Birthday List!

Excited: My best friends Amanda and Matt are coming up this weekend so we can all go to the Ren Faire! I AM SO EXCITED. We will be dressing up and this is Amanda's very first Ren Faire! It's going to be amazing!

Five on Friday Aug 5

1. Kyra calls Doritos "Fire Chips". I think there should be a petition to change the name permanently.

2. This picture is like....pure happiness. Also one of my most popular ever on Instagram. 

3. Speaking of Instagram....why did they add stories? I mean...that is what Snap Chat is for. Also I follow a lot of people on Instagram that I don't follow on Snap....I am not sure I am ready for this level of intimacy. 

4.  Suicide Squad comes out this weekend. SO EXCITE.

5. I found this guy via a group on FaceBook. He's now my favorite to rock out to for my cardio workouts. He is HILARIOUS.

Sephora Haul

Good Morning Everyone, 

The other day I post about my little "freedom" trip to Sephora and today I am going to show you just what I got! 

It's Time for A HAUL!!! 

1) Sephora Favorites- Lashes Unlimited: I am always on the hunt for the Holy Grail Mascara...the problem is ....high end mascara is really expensive. That is why this little kit is amazing! It has all the high end mascaras I have been wanting to try in deluxe sample sizes! 

2) Clarisonic Sensitive Brush Head: I have needed a new brush head for my Mia forever and I finally bit the bullet and got a new one. Awesome decision as I had forgotten how great a new brush feels! 

3) Sample of New NARS All Day Luminous Foundation: The lovely sales girl Hannah got me this sample because I tried a bit on my hand and fell in love. So light weight! It is definitely for a more natural look and honestly I wish I didn't love it because the full size is PRICEY, but honestly...can NARS do no wrong? 

4) Dr. Jart Water-Mask Sleeping Mask: I told Hannah that this winter has not been kind and I needed something to help boost my skin's hydration. She suggested this. It is a bit pricey and she also got me a sample to try before opening the big bottle. I've used the sample a couple times but I am holding on to my full review until later! 

5) NARS Duo in Kauai: I actually watched one of my favorite YouTube Beauty girls use this in a tutorial and I have been coveting it ever since! The colors are so pretty and honestly the pigmentation on them is amazing! I'm in love with them, can't wait to use them for a date night look!

Weekend Fun

Good Morning Everyone,

This past weekend was very busy and I actually did remember to take some pictures!

Friday- Kyra and I went over to my parents to check out the new flooring they had installed. I of course don't have a picture of it but trust me it looks awesome! Then while Kyra was playing I sneaked out and ran some errands. Also because I was baby free and husband free I slipped over to Sephora to use up some gift cards that I had gotten for Christmas!

I will be doing a Haul Post this week!

It was so much fun to get to swatch and run around the store by myself. A little mom's day out! Afterward it was back to parents to hang around some more and then head home for the evening.


Saturday- The morning started off with some cleaning because my in-laws were coming up for dinner. While I was finishing up the cleaning and getting Kyra ready my husband ran to the store to pick up some things. Apparently tortilla chips were on sale....

The dinner was great and everyone had a good time. Kyra was adorable with everyone which made it even better!

After dinner it was time for Saturday Night Game Night! We played SmallWorld and it was a lot of fun! I totally won because I am awesome.

Sunday- We decided to get out of the house and head down to the city. We took Bobby's new car that we got last Saturday! I don't have a full picture of it yet because the weather here has been crazy and Sunday was like the first nice day in awhile but his car needed a wash and he didn't want me to post a dirty picture of it on the blog!

We were headed down because I wanted to stop by the new Ikea store that had opened up and look at some possibilities for a new vanity set up. However I was not impressed with anything there and we left after successfully navigating through the maze of the top floor. I didn't take any pictures at all there...it was just so crowded and everything kind of felt cheap to me? I dunno maybe I am just really picky!

We also went to the Cheesecake Factory as an early Valentine's. We knew that next weekend will be madness and also we wanted Kyra to come along and have fun too!

After our trip to the city we decided to head back toward home. However I wanted to stop at Marshall's just to look around and also they have an awesome playground area for Kyra to play in!

After all the running around it was time to head to my parents' house for Sunday Dinner and to watch the return of The Walking Dead! I won't say any spoilers but ....so many feels!
