Sometimes Life is Hard

I'm exhausted.

This year is just one of those years.

I am not trying to complain, because as they say it can always be worse and honestly I live a very lovely life in general.

However this year is testing me.

There have been some difficulties as most of you know.

This week is another rough week.

My Mom's dog Lilly is sick.

She has Pulmonary Lung Disease.

We thought she just had a cough...possibly a cold.

Now they say that she might live about 6 months with pills and treatment. She might live longer than that...she might not.

Of course my Mom is heartbroken. I'm heartbroken. Lilly is my dog Kiya's sister. From the same litter and everything.

That is the hard cold truth of having dogs. You will out live them 90% of the time. It's hard EVERY SINGLE TIME. We even tell ourselves we won't take any more dogs in because it is just so hard to say goodbye...

But there are so many dogs that need love and when another comes along we love them any how...and we weep when it is their time to go.

Tomorrow my Mom gets to bring Lilly home from the Vet and hopefully we will get the full six months with her. If we don't at least she will be home and surrounded by a family that loves her so much.
so true....IDK if i die before my babies...makes my cry to even think about it...who would take care of them?:

Hello Summer

It's time to share my Summer Goals with you all! (I totally missed the linkup last week....oops!)

Meal Plan- I am so bad with this. It is really hard to do when your husband only likes the absolute worst things for you (fried things), doesn't eat condiments or spices, and the only vegetables he will touch are the only ones I don't like (green beans). However I want to make sure that Kyra is getting the nutrition she needs and I want to do better by myself as well. So planning is going to be a big focus to make sure that everyone is getting something...without relying on fast food out of frustration!

Budget and begin to reduce debt- We have been working on getting our finances all together and being good adults. Now it is time to put things into action!

Meet my daily step count every day- I have been nailing this one so far this month and I want to keep it up all summer! I love seeing that I met or exceeded my goal each day!

Complete the 30 day Shred again- I found this DVD while searching for something else and I think it is about time I gave it a go again. I always love how I feel after completing it....even if it is a beast to get through!

Enjoy the summer with Kyra and not be worried about the things I don't get done. Not every day has to feel like a sprint to the point of exhaustion trying to get as much done as possible. It is okay to take it slow and just enjoy the moments. This past weekend was a great example of that. We had so much fun and I only took one picture. I spent more time just enjoying than worrying about capturing that enjoyment!

What are your goals for this summer?

In This House

Toys are a part of the decor. There is no room untouched by the toy madness.

It's cold. We like it cold. We have lots of blankets though.

We take gaming seriously. Tabletop games have taken over the dining room.

We also take our Nerd Life seriously. Right now as I write this I see a works of art featuring, Dragons, Batman, Spider-man, and Monty Python.

There is (almost) always sweet tea in the fridge.

Tuesday Nights are for D&D. My husband goes to meet up with his group and my youngest brother and I catch up on Critical Role.

Dog hair is just a part of the decor.

The soundtrack is currently Peppa Pig during the afternoons.

There is always coffee....even though only one of us drinks it.

There is always some form of booze...even though we only drink it when friends come into town.

Pajamas are always acceptable attire.

Story Time is usually hours long.

There are hugs, kisses, fist bumps, and ouches.....and so much love.

What I Read: May 2016 Edtion

May was a rough month and basically I only got two books done. I started lots but just couldn't focus enough to finish them. However June has been a great month for reading (it's just too hot to do much else) so next month's linkup should be more exciting.

Permission Granted

To cut back on blogging when it starts to feel like a chore and not feel guilty about it.

To not touch my phone to snap, take pictures, etc when instead I am living my life instead of living through a screen.

To treat myself to something completely self indulgent once in awhile.

To write about whatever I LIKE on MY BLOG.

To let go and embrace the things that make me happy.

To stop worrying so much.

To say NO.

To love myself. Every Amazing Inch. Every Fabulous Flaw.

To rest once in awhile.

To do something I really love....even if it doesn't make me a dime.

To say that I have no clue. I don't have to know everything.

To try. Fail. Try again. Make mistakes and learn.

What do you give yourself permission to do?

Currently....June

Reading....Books that I own! I started Erin's Read Your Books Challenge yesterday and I am super excited to finally read some of the books that I've had forever but haven't gotten to yet!
This is just a few of my unreads....I hope I get through at least some of them!

Watching....Game of Thrones and Penny Dreadful  It's that part of the year again where these are basically the only two shows that I watch. The rest of the time is movies and whatever Kyra wants to watch while I clean!

Listening to....podcasts. Specifically The Armchair Librarians and Mortified. Both hilarious and awesome!
Link

Loving.....Chobani Greek Yogurt. I have been on a yogurt kick lately and these have been my favorite! Bonus is that Kyra likes them too!

Writing....trying to get back at this again. Right now just journaling!

So what's up with you Currently?

Confessions: First of June

So apparently it is June 1st....how did that happen?

Time to console myself with some Confessions.....

I confess that I have been working on my bullet journal and my goals for June with a passion since May was a bit of a wash out....there was just too much going on in May to worry about the small stuff but now I'm so ready to get back to journaling!
happy smiling the rock dwayne johnson

I confess that I am a mixed bag of emotions about this weekend. Kyra is going to be 3! I am so excited for her party but at the same time....how is she already 3? How has it been 3 years since I had her? She's a whole little person now and no longer my little baby....

I confess that when my mom offered to host the party at her house I nearly jumped for joy. SO MUCH STRESS GONE. Her house is basically as clean as Martha Stewart's while mine...well it is just going to make my week so much better now that I know I won't spend every waking minute scrubbing and picking up in what is basically a futile effort with a nearly 3 year old.

I confess I geeked out a little bit when Kyra asked to watch Harry Potter yesterday. Out of all her movies to pick she wanted to watch Harry Potter! And she sat through and watched the whole movie!

I confess it is super cute when she calls Dumbledore "Santa". I mean sure why not?

Also cute...she keeps telling me that she gave Draco a fist bump every time he comes on screen.

Happy Humpday Everyone! Don't forget to linkup!
