Add it to my List aka My Faves for January

Skin Care:

Garnier Micellar Water- I love this stuff. Not only does it take off stubborn eye makeup but it is refreshing enough for when you just want to wipe the day off your face. Super inexpensive and there are coupons all the time for it. I use it daily!

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser- I got this in a sample size and now I am hooked. It does have a scent but the scent is cucumber and therefore not overly strong. However I do notice so if you are sensitive to smells or hate cucumber you might not like it. Anyhow it is really gentle on the skin and makes my skin look brighter when I use it.

Foreo- I actually got this in a gift set from Sephora and I honestly didn't think I would really use it that much as I already have a Clarisonic. However I love this little guy! It is perfect for when you are traveling and something about the vibrations honestly does make my skin feel and look so much better! It is pricey if you are looking to get the bigger version but I have to say this little mini one does the trick for me.

Tony Moly Panda Eye Masks- I adore sheet masks. I use them all the time and when I got these little eye masks I was so eager to use them! They are so relaxing on your eyes and have a definite cooling effect. Perfect if your eyes are prone to puffiness.

Makeup:

Dose of Colors Palette- I use this palette so much more than I think I even thought I would. The colors may not be something that most people would wear on an average day but I really enjoy the different amount of looks I can get from this palette! Great quality but like most palettes a bit pricey.

Nyx Soft Matte Creams- Now these are inexpensive but absolutely high quality! I have at least four different shades of this in my purse at all times. They are creamy and set so well and last all day long!

Buxom Mascara- This is a mascara if you are looking for VOLUME. My lashes are fairly long but when I put this mascara on I get that va va voom volume that makes it possible to not wear false lashes which I suck at applying.

Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte- My every day foundation. Ride or Die.

Milani Conceal and Perfect- I use this just to conceal under my eyes but have used it as a full foundation on days that I want an entirely new face. Inexpensive and super full coverage.

Kandee Johnson Sinful Colors Polishes- Adore Kandee Johnson. Love Sinful colors. (They are only .99) The matte colors in this collection are just gorgeous. Strawberry Milk and Mint Chip are my favorites.

Extras:

SPLIT- Saw this movie on Sunday. Now M. Night can be a bit of a hit or miss for me but THIS MOVIE. Crazy. Brilliant. So well done. James McAvoy is PHENOMENAL.

Lipton Black Vanilla Tea- I love this stuff. It's becoming a problem.
Lipton Tea Rich Black Tea Vanilla K-Cups 24ct

Phone Tripod- A Christmas present that I now use daily. I love having my phone propped up while I get a recipe off of it or if I am watching YouTube. It also has a remote for taking hands free pics.

Bluetooth Headphone- Another Christmas gift. These are the BOMB. No wires while working out or if I am listening to an audio book while ignoring children's television!
LG Electronics Tone Ultra HBS-810 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Headset - Retail Packaging - Black
Topless Baker on Youtube- He's a shirtless, British, adorable guy that makes amazing desserts. Seriously.

Girls Girls Podcast- HILARIOUS. Brittany Gibbons of Fat Girl Walking is the host with her friend Meredith and I have nearly fallen over while listening because I was laughing so hard. Warning however NSFW.

Whew! That ended up being a lot longer a list than I intended! What's on your list? Join the linkup and share!

Confession: I forgot it was Wednesday

The title basically sums up my mindset for the week. No clue as to what day it is or what time it is, however it is apparently Wednesday and that means confession day and maybe if I blog I will get it together.

1. Last week I took Kyra in to a new doctor since we changed insurance plans and had to find a new primary care person. I am so happy that Kyra did awesome at her appointment and even more awesome is that this doctor is literally five minutes away. I really liked him as he was really great with Kyra and she seemed to like him as well. She even had the entire nurses station laughing when we left because she exclaimed "That was FUN Mama!" As you can gather she didn't have to get a shot. (This is not a confession...this is just what happened....see I'm a mess.)

2.  I confess that I am never one to pass up a vacation. Even just a one night thing. After the doctor appointment Robert had to go to Omaha and asked if Kyra and I wanted to tag along and stay the night at the hotel with him I packed the bags and was ready to go! Our room ended up being upgraded to a suite and it was AWESOME.

I have no idea what she is doing.

3. I confess we mostly spent our time at the pool because that is Kyra's favorite thing to do, but she also really enjoyed the cable TV. I enjoyed the massive bed.

4. I confess I will never be as on point with my decorations as my Mom.

5. I confess I am really excited to show you all the chalkboard at Mom's house that we have been decorating for each holiday but it isn't done yet and I don't want to spoil it.

6. I confess that I filed our taxes this morning and it feels SO GOOD. #givememymoney

7. I confess that I took a leisurely bath this morning because Kyra was still asleep and the house was quiet and that NEVER happens in the evenings around here. #becauseI'mworthit

8. I confess the only way to make sure that I am drinking enough water I have to drink through a straw. I have no idea why it tricks my brain into finishing off all that water but it does. #Ihavetopeeeveryfiveminutes

Short and sweet again this week. Have a good Wednesday Everyone.

First Confessions of the New Year

1. Books have been on point this month! Seriously I have powered through five books this month and four of the five have been amazing. I am so happy that I am ahead on reading because last year I felt like I kept putting reading off for other (non important) things and this year I am trying to make sure that I am reading and taking time for myself to just sit quietly.

2. I have a cart full of stuff from Sephora. I have not purchased any of it yet but I come back daily and look at my cart and just kind of wistfully sigh. I do have a gift card but I am terrified that I will end up buying something and then something EVEN BETTER will come out and I will miss out....which is ridiculous. I am ridiculous.

3. I also really want this whole collection from Sinful Colors. I adore Kandee Johnson.

4. I have been looking into forms of passive income to help out. It is just so overwhelming. I honestly go between suggestions that are possibly doable to the same run of the mill junk. I just want to find a way of making a small amount per month so that I can start putting money away for savings and the occasional splurge. This blog makes me 0 dollars a month. I'm not a "popular" blogger and honestly that is okay but I do wish I could be a "successful" blogger who makes this a full time job. The issue I have found however is that each time I look into the blogs that make money it is always the same generic nonsense that I don't even read. I actually read one blog that was like "You aren't going to make money if you just talk about your dog and your kids. People want to know how to lose weight, where to shop, blah blah..." and I cringed. I just can't seem to get behind that at all. My blog is my favorite place to share with you all...

5. I have also been feeling a little lost in life. I want creativity and I feel like I have a lot of good ideas but I have TOO MANY ideas. Does that make sense? I was making a list of things I love and I see potential but I am overwhelmed and have no idea where to take things. I just know that I am happiest when I am creating something that will eventually go on to someone else. However my artistic skills are limited at the moment and while I can knit I would still consider myself a novice in this area. I am not sure what I am trying to get out of this confession but I just know that I am lost.

Some Binge Worthy TV

So this weekend most of the Midwest was hit by an ice storm. While it wasn't really bad where I live we still stayed in and off the roads just in case it did eventually get worse. Of course what do you do when you are housebound for an entire weekend? Watch TV...and stay in pajamas pretty much the entire time but hey that is a given right?

Anyhow we watched a lot of awesome stuff over the weekend and thought I would share with you all in case the weather has you in as well!

1. Outlander- My mom loaned me the first seasons both Volume 1 and 2 and we finished both in the weekend. Oh this show. SO MUCH DRAMA. Not only that but the accents are beautiful, the scenery is gorgeous, and the knitwear is out of this world. I really like the story so far and I knew basically nothing at all about it before starting the show. I knew there was a time travel type element and I knew it was taking place in Scotland. What I didn't know was how amazing the characters would be and how they would draw me into their lives. This show is totally binge worthy if you are a romantic or you love historical fiction. It can be violent and sometimes the sexy times are a little more than necessary (aka DO NOT watch with little ones around. Kyra was happily watching Beauty and the Beast in the bedroom or asleep when we were watching.)

2. Series of Unfortunate Events- I love that Netflix is starting to really take off on their own content. I am so happy to have this series back to life after a bit of a flop at the box office (though I didn't mind the movie that much honestly) and the actors are awesome. I will admit that it is slightly weird and if you haven't read the books (like my husband hadn't) you might be confused. They do a great job of following the books and while at times it can get a bit repetitive I didn't find it more so than any other show. Neil Patrick Harris is a hilarious Count Olaf but I have to say that the absolute STAR of the show is Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket. He is so funny and his deadpan delivery is brilliant.  If you are looking for something on Netflix to binge this is a great one!

3. Alice Through the Looking Glass- Okay so this isn't really a series to binge watch but it was a show we watched over the weekend and it was such a good movie I had to include it. I liked this one so much better than the first one. I actually really did enjoy the first one but this one by far exceeded my expectations. The story just made a little more sense and there was a lot more action in this one as opposed to the first. Visually very pretty and I feel like the actress that played Alice really got into the role this time. If you are a fan of the books or the movies be sure to check this one out!

I know there are only three shows on this list but honestly it took the entire weekend to watch them all and I regret NOTHING! Sometimes you just need a weekend of being lazy, binging on shows, and just cuddling up on the couch under blankets while the weather does whatever it is it is going to do!

What have you been watching lately?

What I Read December 2016 Edition

December is always a hard month for me to get much reading done. The holidays and my birthday keep me pretty busy. I always make up for it in January though when I tend to stay indoors and not venture out into the miserable weather. I will never say that I don't enjoy the cold though because honestly I would rather it was only 4 degrees than have to deal with anything over 70!

Anyhow to the books!

1. I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid - I am still not sure what to think about this one. It was weird and creepy but really REALLY slow up until the very last bit, then it was a heart-stopping pace of crazy. I am not sure I enjoyed it or if I was just shocked by it. Honestly if I had not read reviews that told me to stick it out until the end I am not sure that I would have continued to plow through this one to get to the good stuff. So if you are interested in it I would warn that it takes a LONG time to get to the messed up and nail biting part but once you do you won't be able to put this one down. Read at your own discretion!

2. Shanghai Girls by Lisa See - I was listening to this one via audio book and had been listening for what felt like hours. I mean I had given Kyra a bath and taken a bath myself and done hair and nails and all that jazz but when I checked my progress I was only on page 78 of the book! Slow narration and a  rather brutal scene in the beginning killed this one for me. It wasn't a bad book really but I definitely preferred Snowflower and the Secret Fan to this one. If you are going to read this one just read the actual book and avoid the audio book completely!

Monday

I started off by wanting to do a Weekend Recap post. However I have no pictures and all we did was hang out and play board games literally ALL WEEKEND LONG. So that doesn't make for very exciting posting.

Then I thought I would put up some Monday Motivation stuff to get you going and ready for the week. However I can't get my computer to load Pinterest and I don't even remember what I have posted before so that I am not just posting the same thing over again.

So maybe I thought I would post my Goals/ Non Resolutions for the year.....but I had that post scheduled for Thursday already.

Then I started by working on my Show Us Your Books post for tomorrow. I managed to get it done but it took well over an hour because my computer is running at the pace of a turtle through peanut butter and I nearly pulled my hair out trying to get the images to load.

So instead you get this image and now I'm going to make another cup of coffee because this is going to be one of those days.

Today is one of those days where my coffee is gonna have to work it's beans off.:

Happy Monday Everyone.

Watching: Pete's Dragon. On Repeat. All Day. Everyday. It is Kyra's new obsession and honestly I am kinda okay with that because the movie is SO MUCH BETTER than the original. It is really a wonderful movie.
