Weekend Recap 2/15

Friday: Robert came home from Vegas! There was a little confusion on landing times as the time zone differences seem to really mess with Robert, but we did managed to get it worked out and picked him up on time. Once again I was grateful that our airport is super easy to navigate. They are planning on changing it and that is slightly depressing as it is SO SIMPLE and easy to get right back on the highway.
After we got home and looked at some of his pictures from the trip (it was a business trip so there weren't a whole lot) we all basically just passed out for the night. None of us had slept well while he was away and we were all exhausted.

Saturday: We decided to go out for a bit and go visit the Tabletop store at their new location. It is a really nice new place but they were pretty picked over so all we picked up was an expansion pack for one of Robert's games. Kyra was happy to be there again as she loves the in house cat that prowls around and also has a strange fascination with a Medusa type monster picture they have hung up there.
After the game store it was off to Joann's where I picked up some new pens for my Bullet Journal. I will be doing a whole post on my journal and the spreads that I have been working on this month. I am totally hooked on this system.

Then it we decided to get something to eat and after waiting approximately FOREVER we finally did get to eat. It was delicious though so all is forgiven in the end.

We decided after dinner it was time to go home and thought it would be fun to rent some movies. Well that was just a major debacle. I was trying to use the Redbox app on my phone with 3% battery and somehow managed to not only order movies at different boxes but in different towns. #Fail Well we had to go and them because there is no cancellation option and we were going to be charged either way.

Sunday: Valentine's Day. Robert and I didn't do anything big because well...just not necessary. We did exchange cards and we had some candy but really we were more content to give Kyra cards and candy and let her feel all the loves! We did got out to Sam's Club for some supplies but then it was back home to have a late lunch and then catch up on all the Hulu shows from last week. I was a nice wife and didn't watch our shows without him. Then it was bath time/bedtime routine for Kyra followed by writing/blogging time for me. Super simple.

There you have it, our weekend.

How was yours?

Weekending

Good Morning Everyone,

I know most of the East coast is covered in snow right now but we hadn't had any in weeks....well last night it finally did snow! It actually started when Bobby and I were driving...one minute the roads were just as normal and then it was like we crossed an invisible barrier where there were big snowflakes falling everywhere! Either way we got just a bit and it made everything look beautiful!

So here's what went on this weekend:

Friday Night Game Night: My brother and his friend came over and we stayed up WAY too late playing board games! However it seems that his friend had a really good time (I'm so glad!) and we have plans to game again this weekend!!

Saturday was (obviously) Valentine's Day:

1) Kyra and Luna- This was taken a few days before but....that is love right there!

2) Valentines from my Valentine- Bobby was super sweet and got me Candy and Pitch Perfect which even though I know every word of...I didn't own yet! He did good!

3) Candy from Cocoa Dolce- These candies are so beautiful that it is hard to eat them! However they are SO GOOD that you can't help but not!

4&5) Valentine's Dinner- Bobby made a homemade pizza and we enjoyed it while watching Netflix and playing blocks with Kyra. It was a perfect night!

Sunday: My parents offered to take Kyra so that Bobby and I could go out. First off we stopped at Dave and Buster's and played games. When Bobby and I were in college and would go to the movies there was an arcade and we would always go early so we could play this Jurassic Park game. Well they have the same game at D&B's so we spent an hour playing like children. It was pretty much AWESOME.

After gaming we decided to go see a movie. We went to see Seventh Son and honestly despite what the critics are saying about it....I liked it. Sure it was a little silly, but the story was entertaining and the CGI looked awesome in my opinion. I loved the monsters and it had some really good actors in it as well. All in all, I'd watch it again!
Driving home in the snow Selfie

After the movie we shopped around a bit at T.J. Maxx but didn't buy anything and then looked around at Nebraska Furniture Mart for a new mattress. We didn't see anything we really liked but Bobby did have me take a picture of a sink that he liked!

Then we headed to my parents for dinner and Walking Dead!

That was our weekend! Happy Monday Everyone!

The Date Crate

Good Morning Everyone,

Recently I did a post on the Man Crate that my husband got (check out that post/review here!) and then a few weeks later I was contacted by a rep from Man Crates to do another post on what I would put in a DATE CRATE for Valentine's Day!

The first idea I had came about because half of the country seems to be snowed in at the moment! Here's my idea of the ultimate snowed in date night!

Snowed In Date Night

1.  Snow Shovel- a guy needs his snow shovel so he can dig his way to you! Not even a snow storm can stop him!

2. Blanket- Next you need a blanket to spread out on the floor. It's time to get cozy!

3. S'mores- the ultimate snowed in and cozy food!

4. Hot Cocoa- What is better than Cocoa to go with S'mores? Plus more marshmallows!

5. Firewood Scented candle- just in case you don't have a fireplace to light!

6. Romantic Movie- Time to curl up on the blanket and enjoy a movie!

7. Board Games- Just in case the power goes out and the movie is a bust! Board game fun can be had via candlelight! Romantic and fun!

Now my second idea came about when my husband asked me what the ultimate "stay in" date night would require. Here's what the Deluxe Date Night looks like!

Date Night Deluxe

1. His and Hers Bathrobes- plush, lush, super comfy!

2. Fancy Chocolates- Decadent and Romantic, what girl can say no to fancy indulgent chocolates?

3. Champagne- Bubbly and romantic and just a little bit fancy!

4. Candles- Candle light is just romantic, a proven fact throughout the ages!

5. Bubble Bath- You've got the candles, the robes, chocolate and champagne.....seriously a bubble bath is the last and final thing for an ultimate "Deluxe" evening to sweep a girl off her feet!

What would you put in your ultimate Date Crate? Let me know in the comments below!
