Loot For Fangirls

I have been so excited about this box from Loot Crate! From the moment that I got the email announcing that this box was going to be a thing I was on pins and needles waiting for it to be released! The day that it went live for purchase I immediately got it and low and behold this past Saturday it arrived!

So let's check out this Loot!

The Box itself was so exciting to see. Fun and bright compared to the standard all black of the normal crate.

1. Borderlands Mad Moxxi Nail wraps via Espionage Cosmetics  I was so excited to see that Espionage Cosmetics was partnering up with Loot Crate for this box! I love their geeky nail wraps and they were my number one table to visit at Planet Comiccon this year. I am so happy to see that geeky makeup products are coming into fashion and Espionage Cosmetics do them right! These wraps are just adorable and fun!

2. The Walking Dead Charm Wrap Bracelet- Super cute bracelet and not in your face with massive charms. This is simple and just the right amount of subtle geekery. I predict I will wear this very very often.

3. DC Bombshells Wonder Woman Mini Figure- HOW CUTE IS THIS?!?!?! I love Wonder Woman and I really love the DC Bombshells look. This little mini will be happy placed with all my other geeky items that cover nearly every surface of my house!

4. Fangirls Coloring Book and Color Pencils by Her Universe Press- I love to color. I have a 3 year old so of course coloring is part of my every day existence. This is a cute little coloring book. Kinda cheesy but hey I don't mind.

5. Star Trek Uhura Clutch Bag- This is beyond amazing. This was such a surprise to find in the box and I absolutely love it. It is actually a pretty big bag on the inside and very well made. Also the Tribble charms on the side made my day!

6. Women of Marvel Skater Dress by Her Universe- I knew that there was going to be a dress included in this box but had no idea what it was going to look like. I also wasn't sure how true to size it was going to run either so this was a bit nerve wracking for me. I am so pleased to say that it fit amazingly and was absolutely true to size and it is just plain AWESOME. I love that the dress is mostly black with just the accent of the Women of Marvel. So awesome to have a dress that features just the girls on it! I will be wearing this to a con in the future! Or just out on the town!

Overall I give the Fangirl Loot Crate a 9.5 out of 10. It was really a fun box but it was on the pricey side marked at $55. I do think that with the inclusion of the dress and clutch however that the price point wasn't too far off it's just on the higher side of my subscription boxes.

*Note- I purchased this with my own money and as always my opinions are my own. I do however have an affiliate code if you should ever be interested in purchasing your own Loot Crate. It is good for $5 off your first Loot Crate!

Confessions 1/21

Good Morning Everyone,

Time for Confession!!!

I confess that I had no idea how to "close" an app on my phone. It kept locking up and the battery was draining a lot....so I went and looked up the problem and it said I probably had too many apps open and showed me how to close them...apparently hitting the HOME button is not the same as closing the apps....Fail.

I confess that I am totally freaked out by the prospect of having to clean out the wisdom tooth area with a syringe full of water. Seriously it bothers me there is a hole in my mouth and that I have to stick something that resembles a needle (only not really at all) in my mouth. Just Ick.

I confess that my brother and I have watched about 40 episodes of Will Wheaton's Tabletop on YouTube in two days...

I confess that while I am pretty much over the Red Velvet trend....these cookies are the bombdotcom.

I confess that I am THRILLED to be going to ALL THREE DAYS of Planet Comicon this year!

So that's it for the week, I know it's pretty short but honestly it has been a pretty quiet week this week and I'm really just enjoying getting my house back in order and being pain/wisdom tooth free!

Don't Forget to Linkup!

Best. Vacation. Ever. #Blogtober14

Good Morning Everyone,

I am continuing Blogtober14 and today’s prompt is your Best/Worst Vacation.

Now I realize that it probably seems obvious to pick your honeymoon but hear me out. This was an AWESOME vacation. Mostly because half of it was a complete secret…. from me.

Now I knew we were going on a honeymoon. We were going to spend a week in the Bahamas enjoying the beach and sun and lots of fruity drinks. That part was a given and it was what I had helped my husband plan so once that lovely week was over and we were sitting in the airport ready to board our plane back to Florida and our connecting flight home, I was being a bit of a brat. I hate the end of vacations and I was pouting because we would have to get back to life as normal once we got home.

So we catch our flight and land in Orlando. I’m lugging my suitcase around and trying to get my cell phone to stop being stupid and let me call my parents already. My husband however is rushing me along to baggage claim and so I am slightly frazzled as we ride the escalator down. Then there is this strange guy standing there with a sign that has our name on it. He takes my Robert’s luggage and then starts to take mine. I give Robert a panicked and wide eyed look. He just laughs and says “go ahead babe let him take it. It’s fine.” But my stuff?! Who is this stranger?!

Well said stranger leads us to an elevator and we get in with him, all the while I am looking at my new husband like he has taken crazy pills while he smiles like the cat that got the canary. The elevator opens to an underground road area and there is a HUGE black Cadillac Escalade. Super fancy looking and the stranger starts loading our stuff in it! Even Robert looks slightly surprised at the ride we are getting into but he gets in and motions for me to join. Still confused I hop in and start with the questions. What are we doing? What about our flight? Where are we going? What have you done?!?! He says nothing and keeps smiling as the driver (stranger) gets in and starts driving. I continue with the questions until Robert finally answers.

“We’re going to the hotel.”

“What hotel? I thought we were going home? Aren’t mom and dad going to pick us up this afternoon?”

“No they know we are going to the hotel.” He says and smiles. “Everyone knew.”

Then it hits me. We are staying in Orlando.

We are going to HARRY POTTER.

Cue Massive Fangirl Overload.

We get to the hotel and get the room key.

Upon entering our room….

Robert was shocked. He had not planned for the room to look out so we could see Universal and HOGWARTS!!!

He then told me that everyone in the wedding knew that he was going to surprise me. That he had been keeping the secret for months and months and now finally we were going to spend three days in Orlando and visit Universal Studio including of course
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

That man knows me through and through.

Best Vacation Ever.

BEST. HUSBAND. EVER.

You Know I'm all about that....

Confession Day!!!!!

Vodka and Soda

I confess that I have been blasting this song on repeat for like four days now. I wasn't into it at first but now I must play it until I hate it...pretty sure my husband already does.

I confess that I am giddy about the return trip to Renfest this weekend. I know you all are probably like "Seriously? Again?!" but yes again. This time the hubs and I are going alone which in itself is really exciting!

I confess that despite my efforts to really like this flat iron it is just not as good as my CHI....which is dead....boo.

I confess that every time someone rolls their eyes at the Halloween Decor and Christmas decor I want to punch them in the face. Stop raining on my parade!

I confess that when I saw some young girl at Target on Monday in leggings, a sweater, boots, and a scarf....while it was 85 degrees and muggy as hell out...and she is talking loudly on her phone about "fashion trends"..... I just .....UGH......

I confess that I am so thrilled that the new shows are on TV again! The Strain, Gotham, Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow....SO MUCH GOODNESS. Of course next month is where it is is at....Walking Dead and SUPERNATURAL!!!!

Well that is it for me this week! Hope Everyone is having a good one! See you tomorrow!

Letting Your Freak Flag Fly

Good Morning Everyone,

Thanks for all the awesome comments on yesterday's Nerdy Girl post. It was a fun post and I was surprised by how much I wanted to share! Actually I have a whole other list for a future post!

It's such a turn around for me to feel so eager to share these parts of my personality because I spent a lot of time and wasted a TON of energy basically ignoring/hiding who I really am.

I didn't always embrace my inner nerd.

I always was a nerd I just never really embraced it and owned it the way that I do now. I think that is part of growing up, learning who you are and learning to just accept it. Everyone has something about them that is different, and that is what makes people beautiful. That something makes you, you. You have to let your Freak Flag Fly.

So when did I start flying my flag? How did I finally let go of the image of who I was "supposed" to be and starting just being me?

I started basically but not denying the things that I liked any more.

When I overheard people talking Harry Potter, Sherlock, Supernatural, or other fandom things, I jumped into the conversation.

I started writing about the things that interested me instead of what I thought people liked (fantasy, some fanfiction, darker things)

I started openly telling people about how much I loved Comic Con and how Cosplay was one of my favorite things.

I just stopped hiding.

Once I started opening up it became easier and easier. It just felt SO RIGHT. I finally felt more comfortable in my skin and there didn't seem to be a dark shadow lurking in the corner ready to jump out and ruin any interaction I was having. It was all out there in the open.

So I encourage everything to just Be Who You Are. It doesn't matter if anyone else likes it. It doesn't matter if it is different. YOU are different and that is Awesome. It's okay to be a freak.

So let your Freak Flags Fly!

Nerdy Girl Confessions: Part 1

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

It's Time for Confessions!

Vodka and Soda

Today I bring you a special confession day.....my Nerdy Girl confessions. It is no secret that I am a little *cough* okay a LOT nerdy...but just how far down the rabbit hole does it go??? Well here we go....

....I confess that this post was inspired by my super nerdy moment yesterday when Kay over at the Kay Times wrote about Unicorns and how they do not have wings. My response? Yes some do and they are called Alicorns or Pegacorns.....also the Unicorn is the National Animal of Scotland. Yep super nerd right here.

...I confess that I adore Cosplay. I love going to Comic Con and seeing the Amazing Costumes that people come up with. So much time and energy is put into making a character come to life. I love it.

...I confess that while most people know the lyrics to Disney, I know the lyrics, I know the lines, I know the movies word for word. It is so bad that the only way people will play Disney trivial pursuit with me is if I go last and everyone gets to start with at least two pie pieces. Yep I'm awesome.

...I confess that shows like Face Off and Jim Hensen's Creature Shop are my jam.

...I confess that Unicorns were my favorite thing as a kid. I LOVED the movie The Last Unicorn and I love it to this day. (Hence my knowledge)

...I confess I own over 800 My Little Ponies. (I'm still partial to the first generation, though the revival of them isn't too bad, I heart Big Macintosh)

...I confess that I also collect Monster High Dolls. If I were a kid I would totally want these more than any Barbie. It's the perfect combo of Halloween and Adorable!

...I confess I spend more time watching "Let's Plays" on YouTube than beauty videos. For those that don't know a "Let's Play" is basically watching someone play through a video game. I love watching the horror ones most! (this is one of my favorite Gamers Raedwulf...also Five Nights and Freddy's = TERROR. This video is not safe for work. Click at your own discretion!!!)

So there are my Nerdy Girl Confessions Part 1, there will be additional parts in the future!

Hope you all are having a good week! We are halfway through!!!!!!
