What I Read: April Edition

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is an awesome day for two reasons.

1) It's my 3 Year anniversary!

2) It's the most Awesome Book Linkup Ever!
Life According to Steph

I can't tell you how much I look forward to this linkup every month. I love reading all the recommendations and finding new books to add to my ever growing holds list! Plus I get to share with you all my thoughts on the latest reads and whether or not you should go and pick them up yourself!

So without further delay, here is what I read:

Landline by Rainbow Rowell
I know that not everyone enjoys Rainbow's writing but I happen to be one of the ones that really does. This book in particular I really enjoyed because it deals not with the traditional "falling in love" but rather with staying in love. I personally believe it is much harder to stay in love than it is to fall and I have to say, as someone that has been with the same someone for twelve years now, this book nails it. It's about making the effort, realizing your faults, being willing to adapt and accept the other person for who they are. I loved it. I will be buying it.

A Little Something Different by  Sandy Hall
This was such a cute and quick read. I loved following the different characters in order to get the whole story. Then again I might be a little biased as there was a line from Buffy the Vampire Slayer on page 6 and thus I fell in love with the book immediately. This was pretty much just a "for fun" read as it wasn't too deep and the story was very....You've Got Mail-ish. However I loved the college setup and at different points I could identify with literally each character. If you are looking for a pool side or beach read, I would check this one out!

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I'm torn on this book. At points I loved it...at points I was just done. I loved Jenny for her optimism in love...but HATED her at other points. It didn't stop me from putting the sequel on hold so I guess I liked it in the end? I dunno....I'm still mad at Lara Jean.

My Life as a White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland
This was a recommendation from another one of my favorite authors and honestly I loved it. It is very similar to the show iZombie but with a little darker and hopeless type character. I have already downloaded the next books in the series and I can't wait to read them. I know they may not be some people's jam but if you are into zombies and comedy this is a book for you!

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
I am now completely convinced the reason I didn't like Gone Girl was due to hype. I LOVED Dark Places and I have to say I LOVED Sharp Objects. These books are just so dark but yet they keep me sucked in for hours at a time. I finished this one in less than 24 because I just couldn't put it down. I am very concerned as to Gillian's female characteres...so angry and broken inside. I probably shouldn't care so much but as a resident of the state she most often writes about (Missouri) I don't want people to think we are all crazy here!

There you have it! My April Reads! See any books on my list you want to read? Any you have read and want to share your thoughts! Hit up the comments and don't forget to join the linkup!!!
