In Which There Were Many Festivals

Saturday: Our town was having the annual Applefest and of course that meant it was a madhouse around here. However Robert decided that this year we would try and benefit from it a little and opened up some space to let people pay to park in them. I have to say that it was a HUGE success! It was super easy and people were so happy to get to park so close to the festivities. We actually made a good amount of money and will be for sure doing the same thing next week during the annual Irish Festival!

We also did a little bit of Halloween crafting but nothing is finished yet so I don’t have pictures to show you all. Hopefully we will have them completed within the week!

Sunday: We made plans to go to the Renaissance Festival with Robert’s brother and his family. It was a really beautiful day out and it was the perfect day for walking around. Kyra dressed up as an archer and she LOVED the costume. It was super comfortable and she loved getting compliments.

The festival always has awesome things to do and see but Kyra really loves the petting zoo. Goats, a donkey, pigs, and sheep…she loves them all.

She also convinced Daddy to carry her around for a bit. We had the stroller but she still managed to get him to carry her on his shoulders for a while.

The Children’s realm was a big hit this time too. I only got the one picture because I was busy chasing her up and down the slides. Sometimes you just have to put the camera down and just join in the fun!

I did snap a selfie before we went in because I was feeling my makeup. I needed photo evidence!

It was a great weekend and very busy too! How was yours?

September 2016 Favorites

It's the last day of September! Tomorrow is October!!!!!!!!

So since it is the last day of September and it is Friday I'm going to do my favorites from the entire month.

Beauty:
This takes of water proof mascara and liner in seconds. Super gentle on the face and works like a charm every time. This is my second bottle of this.

This is THE BEST exfoliating scrub I have used in forever. It smells so wonderful for one and it feels amazing and I can tell the difference in my face instantly. Awesome gem in my Ipsy bag this month.

I got this sample of this toner in my Ipsy bag and I am really enjoying it. I have noticed a big change in the texture and tone of my skin. Will most likely be purchasing a full size very soon.

Fashion:
I got my very first pair of Converse and I adore them. I love the color and I predict I will wear these literally every day for the next few months.

Household:
New Dishwasher. Seriously I danced around when I hit the button to wash the first set of dishes. Being a grown up is so depressing that this is one of the most exciting things of the year so far....

My Mom found these amazing Winnie The Pooh plates at the thrift store! There is a whole set of them and each plate and bowl has a different image on it! I LOVE them!
I am so happy with my new Bullet Journal weekly layout. It is still fairly simple but gives me structure to track and organize which makes my little heart happy. Also it keeps it to two pages so that I can actually journal on the next pages!

Geeky:
Awesome nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics! I am so excited about these since I love Critical Role!

We made a trip to the game store yesterday and a massive mini haul happened. Not for me but for my brother but it was super fun to open all the mini's in the blind boxes!

Renaissance Festival started in September! We've already been once and I know that we are going to go again in October...and possibly again this weekend!

What were your favorites for the month? Are you ready for October??

Friday Five: Random Mix

1. First off this has been going around on Instagram and Facebook all week and I kinda love it, the #3fictionalcharacters. I have seen some really funny ones and some that are so on point. Well I thought long and hard about it and these are the 3 fictional characters that I think describe me.
Top Left: Sally Owens-Practical Magic
Top Right: Morticia Addams-Addams Family
Bottom: Belle- Beauty and the Beast

2. I don't really get super personal on the blog. Honestly I don't get super personal in person with how I am feeling....especially if I am not feeling all that awesome. Well here lately I have been kind of in a bad place. I am anxious a lot and stressed. It's been a really hard year this year and I am just trying to keep up while hoping for the best outcome possible. I feel like I am down the rabbit hole but I am making some changes and I hope that soon there will be a little light.

3. It's "officially" fall but the weather here doesn't seem to have gotten the memo. The mornings are starting to cool off though so that is something.

4.I have been working on blog posts lately but it is taking forever to take and edit pictures. I do have some cool stuff planned for both this blog and for Geekish coming soon.

5. I have started some other projects as well one of which includes a costume for RenFest! I am so excited because my friend Amanda is coming in and she is dressing up as well! I can't wait to get it finished and share the end result with you all!
Super Blurry Sneak Peek!

That's it for me this week, Have a Great Weekend Everyone!

Life Lately...

So last week was a bit topsy turvy for me. I'm not going into it because it is all personal stuff but today I am back to blogging and I thought I would share some of the pictures from some happy times these past few days.

The weather has been better around here so I've been trying to make sure that Kyra and I get out and about to explore the world.
Park time fun; caterpillar, MASSIVE mushroom

Also last week we went to the Renaissance Festival and while it was fun it was also pretty hot that day. Still Kyra was cute as ever.

Pumpkin Spice is taking over. I don't mind. Still...is there a flavor Oreo won't try?

People keep telling me that avocados are the best. I have never gotten into them. However I was told to try it on toast with red onion, salt, and pepper....and I really liked it. Damn it.

Now for a bit of fun motivational/inspirational stuff:

Confessions 10/7-With a Little Pitch Perfect Goodness

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome back to Confession!

Let's Confess....

I was SO jealous when my family went to see The Martian last Friday. They all went during the day and I couldn't go because I am pretty sure that Kyra would not appreciate the story as much as I would. Also I am not one of those people that takes their kid to an adult movie only to have the kid get bored and then annoy everyone else there. #respectfulmom .

I confess however that while I was pouting Robert took Kyra and I to the indoor playground at Marshalls were Kyra had a blast and then we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. #yum

I was beyond thrilled that we went back to Ren Fest on Saturday. It was kind of spur of the moment. My parents were going and my brother and his girlfriend were going to be there as well so we decided to give it another try. I am so happy to say that Kyra was perfect this go around. Maybe it was because her grandparents were there. Maybe it was because we plied her with yummy food stuffs (funnel cake was a particular hit). Or maybe it was just a better day. Whatever the reason this trip was awesome and I had all the fun I had expected from the week before!

I spend the majority of Monday working on my blog and catching up with comments and other blog posts. So if you got a comment from a post from two weeks ago, I am not a stalker, I just was playing catch up. I did manage to catch up however and it just makes my little heart sing!

I confess that I totally thought the book linkup was yesterday and nearly posted my post but thankfully I read Megan's post on Monday and it reminded me that it is in fact NEXT Tuesday. I have no idea why I got so ahead of myself!

I confess that when we got out of the grocery store for under $100 bucks I did a little dance in the parking lot. #budgetbabe

I confess that I have been EXTRA nice to my pups since I started watching ZOO on Netflix......#Iloveyou #pleasedonteatmyface

That's it for me this week! Be sure join the linkup and confess to your heart's content!

Confessions 9/23

Good Morning Everyone,

The day of Confession has arrived yet again!

Let's get to it:

I confess that I was ridiculously excited to get out of the house and pick this up yesterday. I love these movies. Sure they are cheesy and silly but that is just part of the fun! I will probably be watching this one on repeat for the next few weeks!

I confess that I am also SO EXCITED about this weekend. We are going to RenFest and I AM PUMPED. I can't wait to go and walk around, take pictures, eat yummy food (scotch eggs I'm lookin' at you!) and just enjoy the whimsical fun. Seriously I would go every single weekend if I could!

I confess that while I don't like PSLs I am a lover of pumpkin spice coffee. Specifically the Green Mountain version. Last year my Father in law got me a big box of them and I made them last for months. They taste so perfect without being sickeningly sweet like the PSL.*shots fired*

I confess that I desperately want to paint my nails a deep color for fall but they are so messed up that I just have no hope of making them look good....Some are long and some are short...some are just frayed and peeling. (From washing dishes by hand without gloves because the dishwasher is broken and my gloves got a hole.) I just want some Black Cherry Chutney in my life!

I confess I am still a bit bummed about the garage sale....I mean the clothes were only a dollar and most of them still had tags on them because she just grew so quickly! Apparently everyone is having boys right now though. Still with the amount of work that went into the garage cleaning I was hoping to at least break $100. Oh well, what can you do?

That's it for me this week, short and sweet! Happy Humpday Everyone! Be sure to linkup!

Confessions: It's October!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

It's Wednesday!!!

Vodka and Soda

...I confess that I am really glad it is October because September was a little rough for me. It had some really awesome moments but I felt like  I spent a good portion of it pretending to be happy instead of actually being happy. Not sure what was going on but with the starting of this new month I feel like things are looking up again.

...I confess that I'm thinking of starting to corset train again. All these trips to Ren Fest have made me really miss the tiny waist I can get with just a couple weeks of wearing my corset. Plus I don't find it restrictive but actually really supportive for my back and again...it makes me look super hot.

...I confess that October is my most favorite month of the year. The weather is awesome and of course HALLOWEEN!!!

...I confess that after walking around Ren Fest and looking at all the vendors and how much they were charging for things I feel pretty certain I could do some awesome works of my own. Namely the Steampunk stuff and the clothing. I think it is time to break out the sewing machine....

...I confess that over the weekend I had yet another wardrobe malfunction, and again it was my stupid bra. Another busted under wire....I think I need to go bra shopping...but bras are SO EXPENSIVE.

...I confess I straight up did a happy dance when the hubs found a lipstick that I have been searching for for months in his bag. Lippy I've missed you!!!

...I confess that during my girly movie afternoon on Monday I was watching Bride Wars and saw Chris Pratt! Totally forgot he was even in that movie!!!

He is a super cutie...and in Guardians he is a super hottie!

Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy | ''I had lost the weight for Moneyball and for Zero Dark Thirty all on my own, without the help of any...

That's it for me, Have a great day everyone and Happy October!
