What's New with you? Stuff and Things

Joining the linkup today because I finally picked up my computer to do something with instead of just pushing it away in the perpetual mood that I've been in.

February didn't involve a whole lot because the weather kept us in pretty much the whole time. I don't mind that though. Everyone is all like "Winter needs to be over" and " I hate snow" and I'm just here like....but then it turns into mud and then heat and then everything is sticky and muggy and miserable? Wouldn't you rather just live in your leggings and hoodie? Or is that just me? I dunno.

Anyhow the biggest news (as I complain about the heat) is that we are going to Maui at the end of April! My cousin is getting married and my whole family is going and I'm so excited because this is the first time my grandmother will get to meet my kids. She's 83 and honestly this is probably a once in a lifetime trip for all of us so getting them there to meet her and getting some pictures with her means the world to me.

I am a little frantic about getting everyone packed up and traveling with a 5 year old and a 10 month old but again my whole family is going and we will make it work. If you happen to be traveling to Maui at the end of April and are on our flight I apologize if Ty is screaming. He's a good baby really but yeah baby's cry and that's life.

Speaking of Ty- He's 9 months old today! He is full on crawling which started about two weeks ago and now is pulling up on everything ready to start cruising and then walking. Kyra walked at 9 months so I'm not surprised at all. I am however having to put everything that is important to not get broken or baby slobber on it up out of reach or put away for the foreseeable future. We are also going through separation anxiety and that is super hard because I can't set him down for any length of time without him screaming which makes cooking, cleaning, basically life hard. He only wants to be held by Mama which is sweet but still....Mama is tired.

Yesterday was grooming day and my girls LOOK SO CUTE!!!!

In other news Comic Con is at the end of the month and I am SO EXCITED. Mostly because my friends are coming in to go with us and that is always amazing but also because 3 of the Weasley's are going to be there and I'm going to meet them and have them sign things and ASKDEINGKLSKDIFNO! My little Potter loving heart can barely take it.

And that is pretty much everything for right now. I'm going to be working on a post for tomorrow (*shock**GASP*) and maybe I'll blog more....I don't know honestly it all depends on the day.

Have a good one friends.

Things that make my life easier

Makeup ovals- I use these nightly for either makeup removal or to apply witch hazel as a natural toner. They are so much better than just the regular circles!

My vacuum- This seems silly to add but honestly I love my vacuum. When you have 3 dogs and a kiddo....yeah vacuum to the rescue.

My planner- I've done the fancy planners. I've done no planners. The consensus? I'm in the middle. I love my planner that already has a layout and I just add my appointments as I need them. The thing is I DO need a planner now because otherwise I would totally forget everything. Between my own appointments, baby appointments, Kyra's school items, my husband's work stuff.....yeah we needed someone to have all this stuff written down!

Amazon Prime- How did we live without this in the old days? I need something quickly but it is nowhere to be found in stores near me? (so not uncommon since I live out in the country) Prime is my savior.

Pinterest- Now this one is a double edged sword. I have found so many things that I can DIY and have turned out and then I find things that honestly it would probably be better for everyone if I just bought it instead of making it but still I love it when I make something myself and avoid paying more than I need to.

Overdrive- I love this option from my library. Thousands of books and audio books at my fingertips 24 7 and all for free! It's so great to have when you want to travel light but still need to make sure you have a book at your fingertips in case you have to wait.

Extra Long phone cords- Life changers. Being plugged in sucks but at least with long cords I'm not literally against the wall all the time.

Watch Later on YouTube- This is such a great option when you see a video that you want to save for later to finish or simply save for later review if you are learning a new project.

Google Photos- All the photos on my phone backed up automatically so I lose nothing and never have to worry about deleting things to make space because they are already saved and easy to access from anywhere you log into Google.

Walmart Savings Catcher- I don't shop at Walmart a ton but when I do it seems I always spend a lot and Savings Catcher is a lifesaver. Basically you scan your receipt and they check to see if anything you bought was cheaper at any nearby store and then they give you the difference! It's automatically loaded up to a gift card on your phone and the next time you are shopping you can use that balance to pay for stuff! I love it because I save them up and use them for those unexpected expenses!

A List of Threes

Saw this post on Steph's blog but forgot I had started it until I saw Kristen post it....so I finally finished it!

Three Things I would never give up- Books, Makeup, or time with Kyra

Three Favorite Vegetables- Potatoes, Broccoli, Zucchini

Three Shows I watched faithfully from beginning to end- Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Supernatural. I have also seen all of Friends, The Office, That 70s Show, Deadwood, Sex and the City,.... But the first three I watched from the day they aired until the day they finished. Except Supernatural is still going strong!

Three Places I want to visit in the US-Hawaii, New Orleans, California.........This was so hard I want to go LOTS of places!

Three places I want to visit outside the US- New Zealand, Japan, Bora-Bora. Again this was SO HARD.

Three things I always have with me- a pen, lip gloss, hair tie or clip

Three things that are always in my car- Ice scraper, napkins, the ever present smell of soy sauce

Three most recent phone calls- Bobby, My Mom, My Dad

Three most often used makeup products- Foundation- I have been using the L'Oreal Stay Matte lately or the Milani Conceal and Perfect , Mascara- I have been using Smashbox and then Buxom as a combo, Matte Lip Cream- I love the ones by Nyx and use Istanbul, Tokyo, and Copenhagen the most!

Three Things that make me laugh- Kyra, My dogs, Silly animal gifs

Three things that make me cry- I am a crier. Seriously I cry over most things. However Hallmark Christmas Commercials, Christmas movies in general, and Disney are the biggest culprits.

So what is your list of threes?

Thursday Thoughts 8/11

1. I had an awesome confessions post for yesterday but then I couldn't find the picture I needed and thus never got it finished and in a fit of childish tantrum just decided to wait until next week since the post wasn't "perfect". Sometimes I am a brat.

2. I have been behind on emails and blogs all week and am spending the morning trying to get caught up on all of them. There were 50 linkups in the book linkup this week and I'm trying to work through them all. Still 50! How cool is that??

3. The changing of Doritos to "Fire Chips" is in full swing. Kyra keeps calling them that whenever we see them in stores and now other children are picking up on the trend. Someday I will see #Firechips on Twitter and will know that my kiddo started it.

4. My insomnia has been at an all time high this week. I haven't gotten to sleep before 4 am any time this week and Kyra is bright eyed and ready to go by 7am. I'm tired but yet sleep is still not forthcoming.

5. I have walked around my downtown area more this past month than I have ever in my life. Yes I've been playing Pokemon while walking but it has really been fun to see my little town change...even just over a few weeks. Apparently we have a Free Little Library here! Basically you take a book and leave a book. It's all honor system based and just really awesome!

Short and sweet thoughts today since I'm tired and also trying to get through all my emails and blog posts. Happy Thursday Everyone.

Thursday Thoughts 2/25

1. This post is late because I was adulting this morning. Adulting is hard. However it was successful and many things that I was dreading have now been crossed off the to do list.

2. I HATE when my online account acts up and I have to call and talk to an automated system that also doesn't work and then have to talk to a person that I cannot understand. Seriously anxiety spikes every time.

3. The ridiculousness on my Facebook feed due to the election, Jessica Simpson, Charlize Theron prompted me to do a purge. I have never felt better.

4. I love when I get into reading again. My housework suffers but I love the feeling of reading a book and knowing I'm ready to jump into reading at least three more.

5. I made Chocolate Chip Cookies on Tuesday night for no other reason than I wanted to. It was awesome.

6. Planet Comic Con is stepping up this year and there are so many guests I want to see and so many cosplayers that I'm just jumping up and down every time I get an email about it. Seriously I don't know if I will make it to May!

7. I have been working behind the scenes on a separate Cosplay blog. I wanted to do a weekly thing on this one but since I had so many things I wanted to do it made more sense to start a new blog. I hope it goes well....I'm really pumped for it!

8. Kyra is starting to get into board games. (Not a surprise in this house.) And right now Connect 4 is a front runner. She doesn't really understand the rules but she has fun and begs us to play with her so really it's all worth it.

9. I NEED to try the new Starbucks take on Butterbeer. Seriously. Need.

10. Thank you to everyone who sent kind thoughts for my little dog Kiya. She is doing AWESOME and is nearly back to her old self. She hates the cone and wants it off but she still has another week before that happens. I'm just happy to see her tail wagging again and that her appetite is right back to normal!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Currently

Good Morning Everyone,

Okay so I had been working on this post last week and then I saw that Steph posted this same post today and I thought, "Hey! I have that post!" So today was a good day for it!

Reading- The Hundred Foot Journey by Richard C Morais. I had wanted to read this one for a while but had kind of forgotten about it. Then it appeared on my suggested reading at the library and I picked it up!

Watching- Well Kyra runs the TV a lot watching loads of Disney during our TV time so I mostly just watch YouTube Videos while I am on the treadmill. My current favorites to watch are Nerdy Nummies, Geek & Sundry, and LustreLux.

Cooking- Actually going to be baking this morning. I am attempting a Pinterest Recipe! It looks tasty!

Blueberry vanilla bread with lemon glaze. This delicious bread is stuffed with blueberries, and deliciously flavored with vanilla and lemon zest.

Drinking- Coffee, I finally went to the store and got some more and I am rejoicing!

Listening- to The Martian on Audible at night. Love this book. Seriously. Also Welcome to NightVale Podcast.

Needing- Some down time for myself....Or like a proper adult vacation....Actually I would settle for just getting to browse Ulta on my own for fifteen minutes.

Enjoying- The slight break in the 100 degree weather. 80 degrees isn't cool in my opinion but it is MUCH better than it was last week at 102!

Working On- Finishing up Camp NaNo, Meal plan for next month, budget...you know grown up stuff.

Be sure to check out Steph's Currently Post as she is the one I got the idea from last month! Also leave a comment and let me know what you are up to Currently!

Happy Thursday Everyone.

Why you gotta waste my flava?

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'm going to talk about the people who totally waste my flava.
(P.S.- Totally was in love with Seth Green for like...ever)

The people who give me the side eye for wearing the same jeans two days in a row.

The people who interrupt when you are clearly telling a story. They just go on talking over you like your voice doesn't matter.

People who interrupt you while you are reading to ask, "What are you reading?"

People that call you up on the phone but are having a conversation with someone else at the same time in the background.

People who stand thisclose to you while you are in the checkout line.

Who wastes your flava?

*Credit Where Credit is due- This post is adapted from one by Chelsea over at The Girl Who Loved To Write About Life!

Also Linking up with Kristin and Joey today!

Today I am Thirty

Good Morning Everyone,

So I had posted back earlier this year that I was going to do a list of 30 things to do before I'm 30.

Yeah...So to begin with I only posted 15 things....and of those 15 I only did about ten of them.

Whomp Whomp.

However instead of worrying about that list, Today on my big 30th, I thought I would share a different list.

A list of things that I did in my 20's that I am pretty proud to share.

Here we go (in no particular order):

1. I traveled- Jamaica, Bahamas, Orlando, HOGWARTS

2. I wrote....a LOT.

3. I adopted dogs...a bunch of dogs!

4. I found my very best friends.

5. I embraced my inner Nerd.
(At Comic Con...Kyra and my little brother...yes we Cosplay and yes we will be going back every year!)

6. I grew up a little....but not too much.
(Me jumping up and down and screaming at the sight of Hogwarts)

7. I married my high school sweetheart.

8. Just a few months later I was pregnant!

9. We had a beautiful little girl.

10. Life Went on....and just got sweeter.

So bring it on 30s....I'm Ready For Ya!

Oh and Merry Christmas Eve to all....and to all a good night!
