Confessions: First of June

So apparently it is June 1st....how did that happen?

Time to console myself with some Confessions.....

I confess that I have been working on my bullet journal and my goals for June with a passion since May was a bit of a wash out....there was just too much going on in May to worry about the small stuff but now I'm so ready to get back to journaling!
happy smiling the rock dwayne johnson

I confess that I am a mixed bag of emotions about this weekend. Kyra is going to be 3! I am so excited for her party but at the same time....how is she already 3? How has it been 3 years since I had her? She's a whole little person now and no longer my little baby....

I confess that when my mom offered to host the party at her house I nearly jumped for joy. SO MUCH STRESS GONE. Her house is basically as clean as Martha Stewart's while mine...well it is just going to make my week so much better now that I know I won't spend every waking minute scrubbing and picking up in what is basically a futile effort with a nearly 3 year old.

I confess I geeked out a little bit when Kyra asked to watch Harry Potter yesterday. Out of all her movies to pick she wanted to watch Harry Potter! And she sat through and watched the whole movie!

I confess it is super cute when she calls Dumbledore "Santa". I mean sure why not?

Also cute...she keeps telling me that she gave Draco a fist bump every time he comes on screen.

Happy Humpday Everyone! Don't forget to linkup!

It's Friday and that means it is time for Favorites!

Beauty:
OPI - I Carol About You & OPI Matte Top Coat:
Absolutely in love with this color! I would leave off the matte finish though.

I have an obsession with cat eyes. This is gorgeous.

#Blogtober~ Favorite Book

Good Morning Everyone,

Today's prompt: Favorite Book

This is SO HARD.

They always ask me to choose I just can't it is impossible so stop asking
I love books. I love a LOT of books.....there are just so many good ones!

Choosing a favorite is like pulling teeth, I mean seriously....they are all good for so many different reasons!!!

So I'm gonna cheat. I'm gonna give you my top ten. #sorrynotsorry

In no particular order:

1. The Harry Potter Series- I really love this series for the more obvious reasons but the not so obvious one is that these are the books that got my youngest brother interested in reading! I started reading these to him when he was 11 (same age as Harry!) and he fell in love with the story and even when I went away to Europe for two weeks he was calling me and telling me that he wanted me to read to him! Since then he has loved books and most especially audio books. So Thank you Harry Potter, it's a memory I will always love.

2. The Lord of the Rings - I read this in high school and the introduced me (and pretty much everyone) to the Epic Fantasy novel. They are for sure "crunchy" books but I do adore the story, even years later!

3. The Iron Druid Series by Kevin Hearne- These are just pure fantasy fun and thanks to my other brother for introducing me to these! They are quick reads but I am so invested in the characters, I love the mythology, and I WANT and Irish Wolfhound!

4. The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle- I loved the movie when I was little and in fact too young to really understand what it was about! The book is even deeper and I really love it. I has a special place on my bookshelf.

5. The Wolf Brother Series by Michelle Paver-
Again I have my youngest brother to thank for this one, even though I finished the series way before he did! This is just a great series for the fantasy lover and also it has a lot to do with growing up and finding your place in the world. Excellent series!

6. The Nerdist Way by Chris Hardwick- This book was kind of life changing for me. That sounds so super lame but honestly I am not kidding. I now completely and utterly embrace my nerdy ways where before I kind of kept it on the DL. I am a nerd and I obsess about loads of nerdy things. However this book will teach you to not only embrace your inner nerd but also really learn to use it to your advantage and put it to work in your daily life! Such a great book and I am so glad that being nerdy is finally something I can embrace and love.

7. On Writing by Stephen King- Wonderful blend of a Memoir and a Tool kit for the writer. I don't really read a whole lot of Stephen King but I do completely agree with his tool box kit for those looking to be a better writer. I listen to this audio book every couple of months to remind myself to write all the time and to just brush back up on the basics and not get too bogged down with worrying about what people will think of my writing. Just Write!

8. A Dog's purpose by Cameron W. Bruce- I love dogs. I have always had a dog in my life and this book touched me so deeply. I cried, I laughed, and I felt like someone finally got what it means to have a dog. Now this book is written in the POV of a dog and as that title states he is trying to find his purpose. Never before has anyone written such a wonderful idea of what a dog's purpose might be. I LOVED this book and the sequel. Please read this, but bring tissues.

9. Belladonna by Anne Bishop-
Wonderful fantasy book. Completely new world to dive into and if you love fantasy and magic and a little love story, you will love this one.

10. The Amazing Adventures of Diet Girl by Shauna Reed-
Diet Girl is the reason I started to blog. No joke. Now her blog is no longer up but the book is there for those of you that missed out on her journey. Part weight loss memoir, part wonderful life story it is just a great book for anyone and everyone. All bloggers should read.

Best. Vacation. Ever. #Blogtober14

Good Morning Everyone,

I am continuing Blogtober14 and today’s prompt is your Best/Worst Vacation.

Now I realize that it probably seems obvious to pick your honeymoon but hear me out. This was an AWESOME vacation. Mostly because half of it was a complete secret…. from me.

Now I knew we were going on a honeymoon. We were going to spend a week in the Bahamas enjoying the beach and sun and lots of fruity drinks. That part was a given and it was what I had helped my husband plan so once that lovely week was over and we were sitting in the airport ready to board our plane back to Florida and our connecting flight home, I was being a bit of a brat. I hate the end of vacations and I was pouting because we would have to get back to life as normal once we got home.

So we catch our flight and land in Orlando. I’m lugging my suitcase around and trying to get my cell phone to stop being stupid and let me call my parents already. My husband however is rushing me along to baggage claim and so I am slightly frazzled as we ride the escalator down. Then there is this strange guy standing there with a sign that has our name on it. He takes my Robert’s luggage and then starts to take mine. I give Robert a panicked and wide eyed look. He just laughs and says “go ahead babe let him take it. It’s fine.” But my stuff?! Who is this stranger?!

Well said stranger leads us to an elevator and we get in with him, all the while I am looking at my new husband like he has taken crazy pills while he smiles like the cat that got the canary. The elevator opens to an underground road area and there is a HUGE black Cadillac Escalade. Super fancy looking and the stranger starts loading our stuff in it! Even Robert looks slightly surprised at the ride we are getting into but he gets in and motions for me to join. Still confused I hop in and start with the questions. What are we doing? What about our flight? Where are we going? What have you done?!?! He says nothing and keeps smiling as the driver (stranger) gets in and starts driving. I continue with the questions until Robert finally answers.

“We’re going to the hotel.”

“What hotel? I thought we were going home? Aren’t mom and dad going to pick us up this afternoon?”

“No they know we are going to the hotel.” He says and smiles. “Everyone knew.”

Then it hits me. We are staying in Orlando.

We are going to HARRY POTTER.

Cue Massive Fangirl Overload.

We get to the hotel and get the room key.

Upon entering our room….

Robert was shocked. He had not planned for the room to look out so we could see Universal and HOGWARTS!!!

He then told me that everyone in the wedding knew that he was going to surprise me. That he had been keeping the secret for months and months and now finally we were going to spend three days in Orlando and visit Universal Studio including of course
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

That man knows me through and through.

Best Vacation Ever.

BEST. HUSBAND. EVER.
