What's New with you? Stuff and Things

Joining the linkup today because I finally picked up my computer to do something with instead of just pushing it away in the perpetual mood that I've been in.

February didn't involve a whole lot because the weather kept us in pretty much the whole time. I don't mind that though. Everyone is all like "Winter needs to be over" and " I hate snow" and I'm just here like....but then it turns into mud and then heat and then everything is sticky and muggy and miserable? Wouldn't you rather just live in your leggings and hoodie? Or is that just me? I dunno.

Anyhow the biggest news (as I complain about the heat) is that we are going to Maui at the end of April! My cousin is getting married and my whole family is going and I'm so excited because this is the first time my grandmother will get to meet my kids. She's 83 and honestly this is probably a once in a lifetime trip for all of us so getting them there to meet her and getting some pictures with her means the world to me.

I am a little frantic about getting everyone packed up and traveling with a 5 year old and a 10 month old but again my whole family is going and we will make it work. If you happen to be traveling to Maui at the end of April and are on our flight I apologize if Ty is screaming. He's a good baby really but yeah baby's cry and that's life.

Speaking of Ty- He's 9 months old today! He is full on crawling which started about two weeks ago and now is pulling up on everything ready to start cruising and then walking. Kyra walked at 9 months so I'm not surprised at all. I am however having to put everything that is important to not get broken or baby slobber on it up out of reach or put away for the foreseeable future. We are also going through separation anxiety and that is super hard because I can't set him down for any length of time without him screaming which makes cooking, cleaning, basically life hard. He only wants to be held by Mama which is sweet but still....Mama is tired.

Yesterday was grooming day and my girls LOOK SO CUTE!!!!

In other news Comic Con is at the end of the month and I am SO EXCITED. Mostly because my friends are coming in to go with us and that is always amazing but also because 3 of the Weasley's are going to be there and I'm going to meet them and have them sign things and ASKDEINGKLSKDIFNO! My little Potter loving heart can barely take it.

And that is pretty much everything for right now. I'm going to be working on a post for tomorrow (*shock**GASP*) and maybe I'll blog more....I don't know honestly it all depends on the day.

Have a good one friends.

What's Been Happening Around Here....

This guy turned 3 months old.....

This girl started Kindergarten and has been my big helper all summer long. She's a rockstar.

I've been all over the place. Postpartum life is no joke and honestly I had forgotten just how hard and wonderful it can be. I'd never trade a moment of it away but some days when I've only slept for 2 hours and I can't remember the last time I saw a shower I have to remind myself that it gets better that as we get into our routine we will learn and grow and it will get easier. And every day slowly it gets better.

These two got their summer/fall hair cuts and they look like mother and daughter now.

There was a shark cake.

Some family outings.

All in all it's been a busy and eventful summer and I'm looking forward to this fall and all our adventures yet to come.

What's New With You...

Kyra is starting preschool in a few weeks. I'm so excited for her but also a little heartsick over it. I mean she has been my buddy for the past 4 years and we have never spent more than 12 hours apart since the day she was born. Not that we will be spending that much time apart I mean it is only a few hours a week but still....my baby girl is growing up and it's happening to fast!

Kyra also started gymnastics this summer. She has loved it since day one and I am so proud of how much she has learned these past few weeks! She can now do a bridge and climbs the ladder all the way to the top! She was so scared she would cry when it was time for the ladder in the first weeks but then about 2 weeks ago she just did it and reached the top and hit that big red button. Seriously I am just so proud of her I could burst into little fluffy bits of pride. She's growing and learning and I just cannot handle the cute of it all!

I know it is fuzzy but she did it and I am just so proud!

I'm also planning on taking a whirlwind trip in just a few weeks. I don't have a lot to say about it yet because it is kind of a surprise/crazy thing and I don't want to jinx it but man I am excited and I cannot wait to see how it all turns out! It's going to be an adventure!

Working from home has been amazing this summer. Though it is not without its challenges. Sometimes I find myself utterly annoyed at taking on an assignment when I know that I've got a million other things going on at home. But I want those dolla dolla bills yall. It's been nice to contribute after so long of not having any income at all. I love knowing that I'm helping in any way that I can to keep our family going.

I'm also on the hunt for a new planner. I have loved bullet journaling but I have found that since my schedule is picking up I need something with a lot more structure that I can just grab and not worry about making a layout for it because the week is already there set up and I just need to fill it out. That isn't to say that I don't want something pretty and full of adorable stickers and cool markers but I need something that has some of the work done for me. It's going to get crazy around here once school starts and with gymnastics and with work.....yeah. So if you have any planners that you are legit happy with please let me know because I am overwhelmed with options. Also if it isn't too expensive that would be awesome because I want to get the absolute best bang for my buck!

Well that about sums up the current situation. I'm back into reading again and writing again and that is making me happy. I've also been focusing on taking an hour out of each day for my own personal use and that is helping me feel like a human again and thus everyone in the house seems happier. Who knew?

Happy Thursday.

Catching Up

Good Morning Everyone,

So I took a couple days off from the blog. It wasn't really intentional and I wasn't overly busy...I think perhaps I just needed to step back and breathe for a moment. I am really glad that I did because it gave me a chance to journal a bit and I actually planned out a couple future posts! Sometimes you just need a break!

Today I'm just going to give you the highlights from the past week because it is Monday and who wants to do any heavy reading on a Monday? Nope.

Here we go:

My husband loved his anniversary gift. He actually was thrilled it was a homemade gift! I will have a DIY up tomorrow!

My anniversary gift was awesome too! Chocolates and a gift card for makeup! This man knows me well.

These lovely irises are from my Mum's garden. They are just too beautiful. The deep purple black are by far my favorite and I actually had some in my wedding!

My leftovers from our night out. I love seafood....why do I not live near the ocean again?

This was a giant spider. I had no banana for scale but seriously. GIANT.
Also Demon Eyes.

Friday was spent at my parents' house taking silly selfies because they have better lighting than me. Also taking pictures of my dad and daughter being incredibly adorable.

Friday night was spent seeing PP2. It was corny and awesome. I loved it. Yes it was super silly. Yes some of it was straight up not believable. I didn't care. The music rocked and it was hilarious.

Saturday we took on the garage in prep for the upcoming garage sale. We freed ourselves of a pool table, a couch, a chair, and an ottoman. SO MUCH MORE ROOM! I can't wait to purge more! Also we found the Giant Spider again....

My parents were out and about the other day and saw a lady throwing out a Little Tykes slide and some chairs. My dad asked her about them and she gave them to him. She asked who the slide was for and dad explained it was for his granddaughter. She then told him she had something else he might like...and that is the story of how Kyra ended up with a Little Tykes playhouse...FOR FREE.

Sunday was spent doing laundry and cleaning. Then it was off to a surprise birthday party for one of our family friends. So much fun and she was VERY surprised! I have no pictures however because Kyra had not taken a nap and was keeping me busy. Also I was visiting and I prefer not to whip my phone out just for the sake of picture time. Sometimes you just gotta be in the moment!

So that is what has been going on here! I tried to catch up and comment on blogs Saturday night and hopefully I got to everyone! I will be back in action the rest of the week!

Happy Monday Everyone!
