Good Morning Everyone!

It's time for Confession!

One~
I write down my confessions during the week so I will remember what I wanted to post. Utterly ridiculous but honestly this is my favorite post of the week!


Two~
I really wish I was one of those people who could just say what they think, but I'm not. However I would really like to tell someone who was not supportive of me this past week that they were being an asshat. That's all.

 

Three~
I'm tired of people telling me what I can "like", sometimes I like things that are ridiculous and overplayed! I don't care if it is "mainstream"! I'm sick of your Hipster Nonsense! (BTW thanks to Chelsea over at The Girl Who Loved to Write for this gif!)

Four~
I have friends coming in town this weekend to stay and have not even started on the deep cleaning that needs to be done to my house. They will be here on Friday. Today and Thursday will be a whirlwind of cleaning.

 

Five~
The outfit that I got for my brother's graduation? Yep I wore the top with jeans on Monday for my anniversary and yes I will be wearing it to the wedding that I am going to in two weeks. It makes me feel like hot.  Sorry I'm not Sorry. 

Six~ 
I am SO forgetful when it comes to remembering to take things somewhere. Literally I cannot leave my parents' house without forgetting at least three critical items....

A Long Weekend

Good Morning Everyone!


Sorry about bein MIA yesterday but since it was my husband's and my anniversary I thought I would take the day off from blogging. Also I did not have power until like 9am and did not have internet until like 11 an by noon I was headed out the door, so....you know there was that too! 


This past weekend was a busy one, Saturday we spent the day making stepping stones for Mother's Day for my mom's garden. Mine turned out pretty awesome actually and I will have a picture of it later as the only one I have is on my phone and it is pretty awful quality. However the stone turned out really great and that is awesome because it made my mom happy. 


Sunday was of course Mother's day and it was my first official Mother's Day! My husband was awesome and got breakfast and then took Kyra and I out for the day. We went to outdoor mall because the day was beautiful and we showed Kyra the huge fountain that they have in the center of everything. We put her feet in the water and she thought that was just hilarious. Also she really loves being outside. I am going tot have to start incorporating more walks into our days because she really enjoys the stroller and being out in the air. Now if the weather would cooperate more then we would be all set! 

Speaking of walking, my Auntie did her first 5K on Mother's Day! She is awesome. She even finished under her time goal! It's got me all pumped for when we do our 5K this August! I've never done an official one and I am really excited now! 

So Monday was my anniversary. My husband and I have been married for 2 years (together for 11). Our first anniversary was not all that fun. We lost one of our best friends and his memorial service was the day before our anniversary. Also he was the one that performed our ceremony and married us the year before. It was heartbreaking...

This year we had a much better time though! My husband took a half a day at work and my parents took Kyra. So we got the whole afternoon together! We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch/dinner. We had never been before and it was AWESOME. The portions were so huge though, we ended up with a lot of leftovers. Oh and the cheesecake.....I had the pineapple upside down cheesecake and it was AH-MAZING. Pineapple Upside down cake is one of my favorites of all time. We even had Pineapple upside down cupcakes at our wedding reception! 

After lunch/dinner we went to see the new Spider-man movie. It was okay.....just really long.

All in all it was a really nice afternoon with my husband and I hope to have many more like it! 

So that was my very long (and long winded) weekend! I will be back to posting like normal now for the rest of the week. Also I will have a new video up on Youtube here in just a bit! Friday Five and Favorites!

Good Morning Everyone!


It's Friday!

Time for the Friday Five!


1) My mom decided she wanted all of us kids to do a DIY stepping stone for her garden for Mother's Day. All the supplies have been gathered and on Saturday my brothers, my dad, my husband, Kyra, and I will be designing the most epic garden stones of all time! I'm considering vlogging about it. Would anyone be interested? Or just stick to Instagram for some pictures of the hilarity that will undoubtedly ensue?

2) My husband's and my two year anniversary is this coming Monday. I have no idea what to get him.....he's really hard to shop for. If he really wants something he usually goes and gets it and the rest of the time he just doesn't really want anything. I did get my mom to watch the baby so we could go out to dinner and a movie though....any ideas on a great guy gift? Alternatively if he is looking for gift ideas for me....

3) I am not a plant person. I have these poor house plants that I complete neglect until they look like this:

5) And lastly, My April Favorites Video! Please be kind, I am not used to editing or filming for that matter but I did try! It is also a bit long, I will get better at shorter videos! I'm working on another one that I hope to have up on Monday! I hope to start posting 1-2 videos a week. On Beauty, Baby, and Beyond. (Catchy....think I will keep that!) Wednesday Confessions

Good Morning Everyone!


It's Wednesday!

Okay so this is my first post of the week because blogger and I have not been in sync at all. I mean I could not get it loaded for two days for some reason. Anyhow so no Monday or Tuesday post but it must like the Wednesday Confessions because here we are! Let's jump in....



....I did a Selfie Sunday this post Sunday. I was still riding the high from my brother's graduation and the fact that I felt really pretty. So the next day I got dolled up again and took a Selfie....and actually posted it! Here's the pics from Graduation and from Sunday....just because.

....I skipped Zumba last night and did an hour on the Elliptical instead. MY CALVES ARE DYING. Still I needed to mix things up because lately we've been doing the same songs and I know all the moves to those and thus get a little bored. Time to change things up!

....I had to put myself to bed last night because I was getting really cranky with my husband. I was thinking about how happy I was on the drive back home but when I got home and he started talking to me....well I just started to get really irritated, so I was sent to bed....

....the thought of Kyra's first birthday makes me alternatively sad and then psycho. One moment I cannot believe that she is already almost a year old and the other half is in a panic over what we are going to do. Husband wants everyone to go to the zoo and take her for her first zoo trip, but also wants a party....how can I pull BOTH off???? .....I'm sure I can handle it.....

Short on the confessions this week because my brain is on overload and honestly I'm just relieved that Blogger works this morning!

Friday Five- How is it May 2nd?

Good Afternoon Everyone!


So this post is going up later today because it has been busy around here! However now we are ready so let's dive into it! It's Friday!

One

Wednesday I registered for my first official 5K! My Mum is a Breast Cancer Survivor and so is her sister. Also my Two of my Great Aunt's as well. We are a family of fighters! It is on August 10th and hopefully will not be as hot as Satan's living room....but with Missouri weather it either will be or it will be the temperatures of the Sub Arctic.  No Joke.

I started a specific YouTube channel for this blog! I will be posting my April Favorites soon!

Three

I have an Instagram and Twitter now. You all told me to just try it so I went ahead and signed up for it. However if all you get is pictures of my baby, well just remember you all asked for it!

I found an outfit for the graduation tomorrow! There was no crying in the dressing room and it is a full TWO SIZES SMALLER. No joke ladies, It's a size 16. I will be posting pictures of it tomorrow as it is adorable and amazing and makes me feel like a freaking Sexy Goddess! Too Fabulous!

DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

Good Morning Everyone!


So today I thought I would share with you a my attempts at a DIY project! This project was inspired by this product right here:

This is the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove. It retails for $35 bucks on the Sigma site.

Now I'm not knocking Sigma but um....I'm not going to spend $35 bucks on a glove with bumps on it to clean my brushes. However I was intrigued by the design and thought.....why can't I make that?

So I did...........kinda.

I didn't have a thick rubber glove so instead I thought I would use a Cool Whip lid.

Why? Because I am classy like that.........also it is what I had on hand.

Here's what I used:

Just a hot glue gun, the glue is already loaded in, and then a cool whip lid. No biggie.

Next you take your hot glue gun and draw happy little shapes. I know my shapes are wonky but I didn't have a lot of glue and basically I was just trying to get it done quickly while Kyra was napping. You get the general idea though.

Let things dry for a bit and then it is time for testing! Here is my dirtiest brush by far....my face/foundation brush. Also I am using baby shampoo to clean the brushes. Let's try this baby out!

Yep it is working....gross.

After a few moments of light scrubbing over my homemade shapes, we have a clean brush!

Here is the residue left over after cleaning on my homemade cleaner. I continued on after this image to clean the rest of my makeup brushes and a good deal of the residue came off after that but I would let the glue dry a little longer to avoid the makeup stuff sticking to it.

Overall thoughts?

This actually did make cleaning my brushes much easier and much faster. It took probably  half the time and I used a lot less water which made me very happy. All in all I would say this was a pretty successful DIY! Also the cost was right....it was free!
