Things I'm always doing (Or so it seems)

I saw this post floating around a couple months ago and this has been on my mind lately and thought 'Hey! Let's blog about it!'

Laundry

Vacuuming

filling dog water bowls

unwrapping string cheese

putting on Barbie clothes

telling myself I will get caught up on blog posts and comments

Making tea

Pumping (Ugh such a love/hate relationship)

Saying I'm going to paint my nails

Searching for a new planner that does everything I want it to

Wondering what kind of world my children will have after all this mess

Trying to think positive and do positive things so that the world they have will not be this hot mess

Cleaning bottles, onesies, and pump parts

Searching for food I can eat with one hand

Dreaming of starting a creative enterprise that will stick. I want to do so many things and when it's 3 am and you are the only one awake you are always full of great ideas...now just to take the leap!

What do you feel you are always doing?

Sh*t I'm no longer sorry for

Saying No.

My random taste in music.

Not finishing bad books.

Listening to a song on repeat until I can't stand it anymore.

Loving makeup even when I don't wear it every day.

Wearing leggings. Look I don't care what you say they are comfy and match everything and honestly with my massive pregnant belly they are about the only things I can wear because maternity clothes are a freaking racket and cost entirely too much for something I will only wear for a couple months.

Being a massive fangirl and geek.

Taking a nap. I'm currently making a person and contrary to what lots of people say, it's exhausting.

For constantly having my hand on my bump. This bump is precious to me. I didn't know if this little rainbow boy was even possible and every time I feel him move I'm so happy. It also reminds me of when Kyra was in there and how joyous that was too. I adore my bump even as it grows heavier and slows me down. This bump is a miracle. Also why the hell do you care if I am holding my bump? Mind your own business.

Taking long blogging breaks. Sometimes I feel it and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I can't look at the computer for another minute having worked on it for hours at a time.

That when I'm at home I'm probably dressed in ratty old clothes.

The only thing I do to my eyebrows is pluck and shape them. I do not have time for all that brow product stuff.

I do LOVE some highlight though.

Hating cooking but loving baking.

For being myself. Emotional, passionate, slightly a mess, ridiculous, but all around good person with the best of intentions.

What's New With You...

Kyra is starting preschool in a few weeks. I'm so excited for her but also a little heartsick over it. I mean she has been my buddy for the past 4 years and we have never spent more than 12 hours apart since the day she was born. Not that we will be spending that much time apart I mean it is only a few hours a week but still....my baby girl is growing up and it's happening to fast!

Kyra also started gymnastics this summer. She has loved it since day one and I am so proud of how much she has learned these past few weeks! She can now do a bridge and climbs the ladder all the way to the top! She was so scared she would cry when it was time for the ladder in the first weeks but then about 2 weeks ago she just did it and reached the top and hit that big red button. Seriously I am just so proud of her I could burst into little fluffy bits of pride. She's growing and learning and I just cannot handle the cute of it all!

I know it is fuzzy but she did it and I am just so proud!

I'm also planning on taking a whirlwind trip in just a few weeks. I don't have a lot to say about it yet because it is kind of a surprise/crazy thing and I don't want to jinx it but man I am excited and I cannot wait to see how it all turns out! It's going to be an adventure!

Working from home has been amazing this summer. Though it is not without its challenges. Sometimes I find myself utterly annoyed at taking on an assignment when I know that I've got a million other things going on at home. But I want those dolla dolla bills yall. It's been nice to contribute after so long of not having any income at all. I love knowing that I'm helping in any way that I can to keep our family going.

I'm also on the hunt for a new planner. I have loved bullet journaling but I have found that since my schedule is picking up I need something with a lot more structure that I can just grab and not worry about making a layout for it because the week is already there set up and I just need to fill it out. That isn't to say that I don't want something pretty and full of adorable stickers and cool markers but I need something that has some of the work done for me. It's going to get crazy around here once school starts and with gymnastics and with work.....yeah. So if you have any planners that you are legit happy with please let me know because I am overwhelmed with options. Also if it isn't too expensive that would be awesome because I want to get the absolute best bang for my buck!

Well that about sums up the current situation. I'm back into reading again and writing again and that is making me happy. I've also been focusing on taking an hour out of each day for my own personal use and that is helping me feel like a human again and thus everyone in the house seems happier. Who knew?

Happy Thursday.

Add it to my List aka My Faves for January

Skin Care:

Garnier Micellar Water- I love this stuff. Not only does it take off stubborn eye makeup but it is refreshing enough for when you just want to wipe the day off your face. Super inexpensive and there are coupons all the time for it. I use it daily!

Image result for micellar water garnier
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser- I got this in a sample size and now I am hooked. It does have a scent but the scent is cucumber and therefore not overly strong. However I do notice so if you are sensitive to smells or hate cucumber you might not like it. Anyhow it is really gentle on the skin and makes my skin look brighter when I use it.

Foreo- I actually got this in a gift set from Sephora and I honestly didn't think I would really use it that much as I already have a Clarisonic. However I love this little guy! It is perfect for when you are traveling and something about the vibrations honestly does make my skin feel and look so much better! It is pricey if you are looking to get the bigger version but I have to say this little mini one does the trick for me.

Tony Moly Panda Eye Masks- I adore sheet masks. I use them all the time and when I got these little eye masks I was so eager to use them! They are so relaxing on your eyes and have a definite cooling effect. Perfect if your eyes are prone to puffiness.

Makeup:

Dose of Colors Palette- I use this palette so much more than I think I even thought I would. The colors may not be something that most people would wear on an average day but I really enjoy the different amount of looks I can get from this palette! Great quality but like most palettes a bit pricey.

Image result for dose of colors eyescream palette
Nyx Soft Matte Creams- Now these are inexpensive but absolutely high quality! I have at least four different shades of this in my purse at all times. They are creamy and set so well and last all day long!

Buxom Mascara- This is a mascara if you are looking for VOLUME. My lashes are fairly long but when I put this mascara on I get that va va voom volume that makes it possible to not wear false lashes which I suck at applying.

Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte- My every day foundation. Ride or Die.

Milani Conceal and Perfect- I use this just to conceal under my eyes but have used it as a full foundation on days that I want an entirely new face. Inexpensive and super full coverage.

Image result for milani conceal and perfect
Kandee Johnson Sinful Colors Polishes- Adore Kandee Johnson. Love Sinful colors. (They are only .99) The matte colors in this collection are just gorgeous. Strawberry Milk and Mint Chip are my favorites.

Extras:

SPLIT- Saw this movie on Sunday. Now M. Night can be a bit of a hit or miss for me but THIS MOVIE. Crazy. Brilliant. So well done. James McAvoy is PHENOMENAL.
Image result for split movie 2017

Lipton Black Vanilla Tea- I love this stuff. It's becoming a problem.
Lipton Tea Rich Black Tea Vanilla K-Cups 24ct

Phone Tripod- A Christmas present that I now use daily. I love having my phone propped up while I get a recipe off of it or if I am watching YouTube. It also has a remote for taking hands free pics.

Bluetooth Headphone- Another Christmas gift. These are the BOMB. No wires while working out or if I am listening to an audio book while ignoring children's television!
LG Electronics Tone Ultra HBS-810 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Headset - Retail Packaging - Black
Topless Baker on Youtube- He's a shirtless, British, adorable guy that makes amazing desserts. Seriously.

Girls Girls Podcast- HILARIOUS. Brittany Gibbons of Fat Girl Walking is the host with her friend Meredith and I have nearly fallen over while listening because I was laughing so hard. Warning however NSFW.

Whew! That ended up being a lot longer a list than I intended! What's on your list? Join the linkup and share!

But the first three I watched from the day they aired until the day they finished. Except Supernatural is still going strong!

Three Places I want to visit in the US-Hawaii, New Orleans, California.........This was so hard I want to go LOTS of places!

Three places I want to visit outside the US- New Zealand, Japan, Bora-Bora. Again this was SO HARD.

Three things I always have with me- a pen, lip gloss, hair tie or clip

Three things that are always in my car- Ice scraper, napkins, the ever present smell of soy sauce

Three most recent phone calls- Bobby, My Mom, My Dad

Three most often used makeup products- Foundation- I have been using the L'Oreal Stay Matte lately or the Milani Conceal and Perfect , Mascara- I have been using Smashbox and then Buxom as a combo, Matte Lip Cream- I love the ones by Nyx and use Istanbul, Tokyo, and Copenhagen the most!

Three Things that make me laugh- Kyra, My dogs, Silly animal gifs

Three things that make me cry- I am a crier. Seriously I cry over most things. However Hallmark Christmas Commercials, Christmas movies in general, and Disney are the biggest culprits.

In This House

Toys are a part of the decor. There is no room untouched by the toy madness.

It's cold. We like it cold. We have lots of blankets though.

We take gaming seriously. Tabletop games have taken over the dining room.

We also take our Nerd Life seriously. Right now as I write this I see a works of art featuring, Dragons, Batman, Spider-man, and Monty Python.

There is (almost) always sweet tea in the fridge.

Tuesday Nights are for D&D. My husband goes to meet up with his group and my youngest brother and I catch up on Critical Role.

Dog hair is just a part of the decor.

The soundtrack is currently Peppa Pig during the afternoons.

There is always coffee....even though only one of us drinks it.

There is always some form of booze...even though we only drink it when friends come into town.

Pajamas are always acceptable attire.

Story Time is usually hours long.

There are hugs, kisses, fist bumps, and ouches.....and so much love.

Thursday Thoughts 2/25

1. This post is late because I was adulting this morning. Adulting is hard. However it was successful and many things that I was dreading have now been crossed off the to do list.

2. I HATE when my online account acts up and I have to call and talk to an automated system that also doesn't work and then have to talk to a person that I cannot understand. Seriously anxiety spikes every time.

3. The ridiculousness on my Facebook feed due to the election, Jessica Simpson, Charlize Theron prompted me to do a purge. I have never felt better.

4. I love when I get into reading again. My housework suffers but I love the feeling of reading a book and knowing I'm ready to jump into reading at least three more.

5. I made Chocolate Chip Cookies on Tuesday night for no other reason than I wanted to. It was awesome.

6. Planet Comic Con is stepping up this year and there are so many guests I want to see and so many cosplayers that I'm just jumping up and down every time I get an email about it. Seriously I don't know if I will make it to May!

7. I have been working behind the scenes on a separate Cosplay blog. I wanted to do a weekly thing on this one but since I had so many things I wanted to do it made more sense to start a new blog. I hope it goes well....I'm really pumped for it!

8. Kyra is starting to get into board games. (Not a surprise in this house.) And right now Connect 4 is a front runner. She doesn't really understand the rules but she has fun and begs us to play with her so really it's all worth it.

9. I NEED to try the new Starbucks take on Butterbeer. Seriously. Need.

10. Thank you to everyone who sent kind thoughts for my little dog Kiya. She is doing AWESOME and is nearly back to her old self. She hates the cone and wants it off but she still has another week before that happens. I'm just happy to see her tail wagging again and that her appetite is right back to normal!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Thursday Thoughts

1. Today is my parents' 37th anniversary. They are still almost sickeningly in love. It's wonderful.

2.I am super proud that I got my brothers together yesterday so we could surprise my parents  with a group portrait of all of us. It was the one thing that my mom asked for and it took a little work since we all have really varied schedules but we did it and she cried from happiness.
We are a good looking group huh?

3. I am over the term "basic bitch". When did it become bad to like things? When did it become cool to make fun of other people who like things? Why can't I just enjoy what I enjoy? So what if a lot of other people like it? Why does that make it a bad thing?

4. I am once again super behind on reading posts and comments. I am trying to work on it, but man you take a couple days off for sickness/picture taking and you can really fall behind!

5. I still haven't seen The Martian and I am dying inside.

6. I am feeling the need to be crafty and creative again. I predict painting in my future.

7. Pumpkin Pie Blizzards are awesome. IDK what anyone else says. Awesome.

8. Knitting is so relaxing. I wish I had started it sooner!

9. My favorite bra busted an underwire yesterday. I feel so betrayed.

10. I didn't have a tenth one but leaving it on nine felt weird and awkward. So here you go.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I'm the Kinda Girl Who....

Good Morning Everyone,

I saw this post over on Steph's blog a few weeks back and I thought...that is awesome. Thus I decided to copy borrow the post and share a little bit about myself with you all!

-has trouble making friends but will always show up for someone

-gets overly excited about things I like

-swears a lot on my own but have a sudden filter on when around strangers/my parents

-avoids confrontation at all costs. I'm not going to fight with you unless pushed to the limit.

-cannot make small talk but can have really deep conversations

-usually knows what you are feeling before you even say a word

-who in theory wants to be a planner/organizer type but really is a chaotic last minute mess

-won't let a limb hang over the edge of the bed because it WILL get eaten off

-has houseplants that I hate...yet they continue to live on...

-loves high heels but lives in flip flops.

-wears socks inside out, unless they have a cute picture on them.

-will start a journal on page 2 because page 1 is too much pressure. Seriously.

So tell me....what kinda girl or boy...are you?

A Case of the Mondays

Afternoon Everyone,

I'm so late putting this up because the weekend was just so busy that I was BEYOND exhausted and in no mood to write last night. Also I spent the entire morning cleaning/prepping tonight's dinner/wrapping my Bobby's anniversary gift/cleaning more.

To say my mood isn't in a good place is a bit of an understatement. I'm frustrated that there was so much to do. A lot of things went wrong:

1) Luna decided that since she was mad we were busy this weekend she would destroy the carpet on the stairs. Also rip up the baseboard. Ugh.

2) They still have not come to mow our grass. The neighbors are all done and now we look like "that" house. I'm fuming.

3) Dishes were left in the sink. I took Mother's Day off because I thought I could. Hah.

4) PILES of laundry.

5) I hate being asked "what do you want to do" seriously doesn't anyone have a plan?

I know this sounds like I'm being a drama queen. I mean yesterday was Mother's Day and I got a sweet card from Kyra and I had a lovely brunch with my family. Also tomorrow is our three year anniversary. I should be excited and happy but I'm just in a funk today. I hope to shake it before tomorrow and I am VERY excited about the gift I made for Bobby. I honestly can't wait to share it with you all here, I even have a DIY!

Another thing to be excited about is the Show Us Your Books Linkup! I read some really awesome books last month and I am can't wait to share them with you all!

Now I'm off to make a late lunch for Kyra and hopefully get a workout in before a much needed shower.

Have a good Monday Everyone.

My Top Apps for Saving (and Making) Extra Cash!

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I wanted to share with you the Apps that I use in order to both save money and also make money!

I don't know anyone that isn't looking to add a little extra cash flow to their budget. The following apps are ones that I personally have used and have had success with in order to either save or to actually earn money!

1) Us Likey-  This is an app that is sort of like Instagram. You post pictures with hashtags and each week favorites are selected and given rewards! The hashtags are usually demos of your favorite items or just images from your weekend! Usually rewards are in the form of gift cards or (as in my own case) actual cash money! They use Gift Rocket as a transfer and payment can be sent directly and safely to your account! This one is only available for iPhone users currently but ever since installing it I have actually earned $75 dollars in the past month! Now that may not seem like a lot but to me that is a water bill payment! If you would like to try this one out my user name is chaosncocoa! If you mention me when you sign up I will get rewards but you for sure don't have to!

2) Target Cartwheel- I am pretty sure that a lot of people use this one but just in case you don't here is why you should! I always scan my items before checking out to see if there is a cartwheel on them and about 7 out of ten times there is one! Also cartwheels can be combined with coupons for even more savings! I know I always save at least a couple bucks each time I use my Cartwheel!

3) Walmart Savings Catcher- Walmart's answer to the Cartwheel. This app allows you to upload your receipt and then it scans nearby stores to see if you got the best deal. If another store had a better deal Walmart will give you the difference back on a gift card! The best part is you can keep adding up your savings until you reach a larger amount and then cash in the gift card! Now you don't have to drive to multiple stores which saves time and you still get a good deal!

4) Swagbucks- I use Swagbucks on multiple platforms but I have to say the app is the easiest. I just log in, get some points and log back out! Also you can launch the Swagbuck TV app and just let it run for a bit to earn some easy points! Points can be redeemed for all sorts of items but the best bang for your buck? Amazon $5 gift card! I payed for a huge chunk of Christmas last year by saving up all my gift cards that I earned through this one! I also get points for referral so again if you are so inclined click here! (You totally don't have to! It will not hurt my feelings one bit!)

Those are the top four apps that I see the most consistent savings and money making abilities in though I have tried plenty more! I was not a big fan of ibotta or of Checkout51 as I never seemed to be purchasing the items that they offered points on but you budget might be different from mine so I would still recommend you check them out for yourself!

I also just recently started using some apps that sync with my Vivofit so hopefully I will see some savings there soon!

Do you use apps for savings/money making? What are your favorites?

What I Read: March Edition

Good Morning Everyone!

It is time for one of my favorite linkups of all time!!!
Life According to Steph

I read a bunch of really great books last month...although some of them were poorly timed due to personal goings on in my life. However that didn't stop them from being really great books!

Here's what I read:

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
I know that everyone was pretty shocked when I said that I didn't like Gone Girl...and I stand by my opinion. However while I didn't like that particular book I did appreciate how well written it was and that prompted me to pick up this one. I will cut to the chase and tell you right now...I LOVED this one! This is more what I expected out of Gone Girl. I didn't necessarily "like" any of the characters but I did care about what happened to them. The mystery in this one had me guessing and re-guessing! Would for sure recommend and will be reading more titles by Gillian Flynn!!

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
This one I actually got because of this linkup! I love Neil Gaiman's style of storytelling and this story was whimsical and charming and just a little bit heartbreaking. Brilliant.

Wickedly Wonderful by Deborah Blake
This is the second book in the Baba Yaga series that I started a few months ago and thankfully it was just as good as the first! I am really enjoying the series as a whole and while this one had a different main character I really enjoyed her as much as the first one. These are nice little bits of paranormal fluff that just make me happy!

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
I picked up this book for no other reason than I liked the cover. I know you aren't supposed to do that but I did. This book....oh this book....I was not prepared for this one. For those that like myself know nothing about this one I will warn you ahead of time. It deals with a lot of life struggles...Depression...Loss....Death. I cried massive amounts of tears over this one. It didn't help that I was reading it during a really tough time in my own personal life. This book is brilliant, beautiful, and sad. I loved it and yet I am still angry with it...I think I will continue to be confused on just what I felt about it for a long time to come. However if you are up to the emotional turmoil...read it...but bring tissues.

The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand
Now this one is also sad but I at least was prepared for it to be a little sad as the title implies a lot. However I was not expecting just what I got. The main character drew me in so readily even though she was like the polar opposite of myself. I cared about her and I wanted to understand her and I REALLY wanted to understand her brother. This book is about loss after suicide and while it was sad it was also hopeful. A really good read but again bring tissues!

So that was what I read last month and I am already started on a whole long list for this month! I am so happy I joined this linkup because it has rekindled my love for finding new book treasures that may be out of my normal comfort zone! My list just keeps growing every month!

See any books on my list you want to read? Any you have read and want to share your thoughts! Hit up the comments and don't forget to join the linkup!!!

Creativity....In Progress

Good Morning Everyone,

It's time for the Choose Your Adventure Linkup!!

Life According to Steph

February's Goal: CREATE

 1) I want to create a costume for Comic Con in March.---Well....not so much. Kyra has a costume that I picked out and my mom created that I will reveal after Comic Con next week...but as for me? Yeah...nada. It has a lot more to do with my own self esteem issues than actual creativity...but still a big NO on this one.

2) One piece of artwork for my home--This is actually an "in progress" one. I have the piece I am working on...it just isn't done yet because it has been too cold to really work on painting it. So I only get half a point on this one.

3) Does more work on the novel count? I'm counting it. ---Yes! Major edits were done but still not out of the editing phase yet. I have a whole section that still needs a rewrite in order to fix some plot holes. Half a point again.

March's Goal:RELATIONSHIPS

1) A half hour to hour of stretching/fitness/wellness- Relationship with Self and with Kyra (she's been doing my morning stretches with me! So Cute!)

2) Plan get together with friends for the upcoming months--Friendships

3) One date night just Robert and Me- Husband and Self

4) Bedtime Story Time- Kyra, Self, Husband

I'm looking forward to March's goals! I actually am working on a post about Number 1 on the list as it is something that Kyra and I just started! That post should be up on Monday or Tuesday!

So how did you do last month? Were you Super Creative or kind of give it a miss like me? Be sure to share in comments!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

P.S.- A BIG Thank You to all those that wished my Mum a happy birthday the other day! She had a really great day!

10 Things I've learned since becoming a Mom

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is going to be a Mommy post, if that isn't your jam I get it, come back tomorrow for my Confessions Post!

For those that wanna stick around I'm gonna share with you:

1) Personal boundaries on appearance are more like "guidelines" really.- After having Kyra I was surprised at how little I cared if anyone saw me in my pajamas at three pm. At the beginning when I was nursing I didn't care what I looked like or what raggedy item of clothing I had on...Kyra was my focus and there are still days when showering is a luxury.

2) You will talk and think about your child's bathroom habits far more than you ever thought you would think about anyone's. Even your own. - At first it is all about diapers and how often and is everything healthy....and then it is all about potty training, avoiding accidents, and how weird the process of potty training can be.

3) Every day is different. Every child is different. Make no assumptions and always expect the unexpected.

4) There will be so many days where you are sure that you a screwing it all up and you  just wing it. I think this is true for all moms out there. You probably aren't really screwing it up. So long as you are really trying.

5) There are days where you will listen to the same song/movie/show on repeat. You will become so ingrained with starting them over that you convince yourself that you aren't even doing it anymore. You will start to hum Hakuna Matata in those rare moments you are alone....and you will REJOICE the moment that the kiddo shows interest in literally ANY OTHER song/movie/show. (101 Dalmatians I adore you for saving me!)

6) You will learn that some battles cannot be won. Especially with a toddler.

7) Big purses are no longer for makeup must haves but for band-aids, baby Tylenol, Orajel, extra wipes, extra outfits, diapers, bloomers, lotion, diaper cream, and extra toys and snacks.

8) Even if you cannot handle puke at all....when your kiddo is sick you will be there every puking moment. When Kyra got sick the other week she would run to me upset and I would pick her up and hold her....then she would proceed to puke down my shirt. She did this four times. I honestly didn't even care because I was so busy trying to make her feel better as she cried that her belly hurt. (We also climbed fully clothed into the shower at one point because that honestly seemed the easiest option. Totally worked.)
