March Recommendations

Burt's Bees oil cleanser- This has made taking my makeup off so much faster! To be honest while I love makeup and totally try to take care of my skin as much as possible there are still so many nights when I'm in a hurry to just get the gunk off and go to bed. This makes taking off eye liner and mascara a total breeze and I have noticed that it also makes my skin very happy! There are lots of different oil cleansers but I admit I picked this one because it is in the lower price range and no regrets so far! 

Organizers for makeup- My husband bought these for me for Christmas and I LOVE them. If you are a makeup hoarder like myself these are awesome to organize your stash. 

Essential oils- I am totally late to the party but essential oils have changed my cleaning routine as far as laundry and cleaning my mattress goes. They smell awesome and last so long and yeah just take the plunge it's worth it. 

YouTube channels- I'm totally into cleaning/vlogging/mommy videos these days. This might not be up your alley but if you are so inclined my favorites are:

Wet N Wild Foundation- Super cheap and it has the staying power of a much more expensive foundation. I love a deal and this one is amazing. It has a pretty broad shade range and very build-able coverage! 

Dry Shampoo- Again I'm late to the party but I was sent this sample of dry shampoo and now I'm hooked and basically this will have to be in my regular stash especially with baby boy due in a few months and my knowing that showers will be few and far between once he arrives. I love this one but honestly it is super pricey so if you have any recommendations for something cheaper I am all for it! However I will say this one is worth the money, especially if you are a brunette or darker hair color. 

Podcasts- I've told you all about the Curvy Girl Podcast before and I'm still in love with it but now I have a new podcast that I have been bingeing on and honestly I'm probably late to this party too but: 

I love true crime but I love Karen and Georgia even more. They deliver the stories so well and with hilarity that takes the brutal edge off. Plus they are just realatable and funny and yeah you should listen.

Favorite Apps for the iPad

Good Morning Everyone,

 

Today I am bringing you my top 5 favorite apps for the iPad! (Psst...They are all FREE!)

I really love seeing these type posts and seeing what other apps people are using for two reasons:

1. New apps to find and download!

2. I'm nosy.

 

These apps are ones that I use if not on a daily basis then at least on a weekly one!

1. YouTube- Seriously I use this EVERYDAY. I have a Chromecast and I stream videos pretty much all the time. Love it. 

2. Audible- I've I'm not watching then I am listening! I love having an Audible account. I listen to books every night as I go to sleep and Audible has THE BEST selection of audio books. I love that I can choose certain books from my library and listen to them and then take them off the iPad to add other ones from my library! 

3. Overdrive- Now not every library offers this but you should immediately check to see if yours does! This app allows you to download audio books and ebooks FOR FREE from your local library! If you have a library card then you are good to go! You can also place items on hold and they will email you when they are ready to be downloaded! I love that the library is expanding into this area because honestly libraries and free books are the best thing ever!! 

4. Flutter- Okay this is a game. It is a highly addictive game in my opinion, even if my husband thinks I am crazy for liking it. Basically you raise butterflies for your own little Amazon rainforest. Ever so often a new set of butterflies becomes available and you only have a set number of days to catch them. Butterflies have abilities and there are pretty flowers and....yeah addictive. 

 

5. Pinterest- This one is obvious but honestly the iPad is the place that I use this the most. I love the ease of the app and love that it is portable for any time that I am bored or if the Kyra has fallen asleep on me and I can't get up and move around! Love you Pinterest!

Confessions 11/19

 Morning Everyone,

Let's Confess...

I confess I got sucked into the black hole of YouTube and watched two hours of surprise baby announcements. I'm not pregnant and don't plan to be for a while yet but these videos are so adorable and uplifting...I'm a weirdo I know.

I confess that what I learned from these announcements is that Grandma's to be are like crazy happy....most of the Grandpa's are as well....80% of the Husbands however?? You can see the light go out of their eyes as they realize they have to be responsible and suddenly think their lives are over.

 

I confess that over the weekend I made Buffalo Chicken Dip and it was AWESOME. Also confess that I ate it alone because the hubs doesn't like spicy food.

I also confess that I ate it on toasted bread the first night because I didn't have any chips.

I confess that I hate house plants.  Seriously...they are just...another chore. The one next to me currently is finally perking up because I noticed it was half dead right before my husband came home and nearly drowned it in the hopes it would survive. (He likes them.) I dunno....maybe it is because I got most of them from funerals? Either way my thumbs are not green.

You Know I'm all about that....

Confession Day!!!!!

I confess that I have been blasting this song on repeat for like four days now. I wasn't into it at first but now I must play it until I hate it...pretty sure my husband already does. 

I confess that I am giddy about the return trip to Renfest this weekend. I know you all are probably like "Seriously? Again?!" but yes again. This time the hubs and I are going alone which in itself is really exciting! 

I confess that despite my efforts to really like this flat iron it is just not as good as my CHI....which is dead....boo.

I confess that every time someone rolls their eyes at the Halloween Decor and Christmas decor I want to punch them in the face. Stop raining on my parade!

I confess that when I saw some young girl at Target on Monday in leggings, a sweater, boots, and a scarf....while it was 85 degrees and muggy as hell out...and she is talking loudly on her phone about "fashion trends"..... I just .....UGH......

 

I confess that I am so thrilled that the new shows are on TV again! The Strain, Gotham, Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow....SO MUCH GOODNESS. Of course next month is where it is is at....Walking Dead and SUPERNATURAL!!!!

A Long Weekend

Good Morning Everyone!


Sorry about bein MIA yesterday but since it was my husband's and my anniversary I thought I would take the day off from blogging. Also I did not have power until like 9am and did not have internet until like 11 an by noon I was headed out the door, so....you know there was that too! 


This past weekend was a busy one, Saturday we spent the day making stepping stones for Mother's Day for my mom's garden. Mine turned out pretty awesome actually and I will have a picture of it later as the only one I have is on my phone and it is pretty awful quality. However the stone turned out really great and that is awesome because it made my mom happy. 


Sunday was of course Mother's day and it was my first official Mother's Day! My husband was awesome and got breakfast and then took Kyra and I out for the day. We went to outdoor mall because the day was beautiful and we showed Kyra the huge fountain that they have in the center of everything. We put her feet in the water and she thought that was just hilarious. Also she really loves being outside. I am going tot have to start incorporating more walks into our days because she really enjoys the stroller and being out in the air. Now if the weather would cooperate more then we would be all set! 

Speaking of walking, my Auntie did her first 5K on Mother's Day! She is awesome. She even finished under her time goal! It's got me all pumped for when we do our 5K this August! I've never done an official one and I am really excited now! 

So Monday was my anniversary. My husband and I have been married for 2 years (together for 11). Our first anniversary was not all that fun. We lost one of our best friends and his memorial service was the day before our anniversary. Also he was the one that performed our ceremony and married us the year before. It was heartbreaking...

This year we had a much better time though! My husband took a half a day at work and my parents took Kyra. So we got the whole afternoon together! We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch/dinner. We had never been before and it was AWESOME. The portions were so huge though, we ended up with a lot of leftovers. Oh and the cheesecake.....I had the pineapple upside down cheesecake and it was AH-MAZING. Pineapple Upside down cake is one of my favorites of all time. We even had Pineapple upside down cupcakes at our wedding reception! 

After lunch/dinner we went to see the new Spider-man movie. It was okay.....just really long.

All in all it was a really nice afternoon with my husband and I hope to have many more like it! 

So that was my very long (and long winded) weekend! I will be back to posting like normal now for the rest of the week. Also I will have a new video up on Youtube here in just a bit! Friday Five/ Favorites

Good Morning Everyone!

It is Friday!

Time for our weekly linkup!

1) I have a video! I decided that I would go ahead and make a January Favorites video on YouTube to see if I might like to try making videos. Please go and check it out and give it a thumbs up if you enjoy it. Also be kind as this is my first real video, I'm not an editor, and also have the worst lighting in the world! Also something is going on with the focus and it looks a little wibbly wobbly (timey wimey....1,000 points if you get that!)

3) I had to miss Zumba on Thursday due to my ankle but I will be back in action on Tuesday! Even if I have to limp through it!

4) I am working on a 30 things to do before I am 30 list. A friend of mine mentioned that she was going to do one and I thought I would join in! Now to figure out just what I want to do!

5) It is snowing.....again.



This week has been a tough one. Had a slight misstep on the diet. Kyra has not been napping all week and is rejecting her formula. I have wicked cabin fever and am just tired of being stuck inside while it freezes over out there! However it is Friday and the weekend is finally here!
