My Beauty Wishlist Summer 2015

Good Morning Everyone,

It's no secret around here that I'm a tad makeup...obsessed?

Yes I know I have a problem. #sorrynotsorry

Today I'm going to share with you my current Beauty Wishlist! (Also known as the items I would buy the minute I hit the lotto because of course they are on the pricey side. womp womp.)

There are some AWESOME products that have just recently been released or are about to be released and I have a MIGHTY NEED.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighters- I will admit that I love a good highlight. Seriously they are wonderful for when I'm not feeling a full face of makeup but want to look like I tried at least a little. These look amazing!

2. Colourpop Lippie Stix- I want to order from Colourpop SO BADLY. They are actually a really great price for some truly gorgeous colors! I love this whole set and am really excited about the new all matte colors that are coming out next soon!

3. Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows- Makeup Geek is another brand that I want to order from like as soon as possible. Every time I see these shadows on Instagram I fall more in love with them. So much pigment!

4. Morphe Brush Set- Brushes are super important to makeup application IMO and these Morphe sets are so gorgeous and have some really great reviews. I'd love this beautiful purple set!

5. Dose of Colors Berry Me 2- Honestly I would take just about any color from Dose of Colors but once they released Berry Me 2....I need this in my life!!

6. Urban Decay Smokey Palette- When this palette was announced I was so excited. I love a good smokey eye and Urban Decay has yet to let me down with their palettes (I own like five of them...) and this is just another one for the collection!

7. Urban Decay F-Bomb-Yes I have an obsession with lip products. Yes I need this gorgeous bombshell red. Little known fact...I'm obsessed with pin up girl looks and this red looks perfect for that style!

8. Geek Chic Witchcraft and Wizardy Set- It is no secret that I love Harry Potter. It is also no secret that I am a huge nerd. Also a makeup addict...so yeah geeky makeup? Harry Potter themed? NEED IT.

9. Geek Chic Awesome Mix Set- Guardians of the Galaxy Nerdy Makeup goodness. Again...I need this.

10. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Craft- Okay so I have been wanting to jump on the Liquid Lipstick train for a while now but these are really pricey at $20 bucks a pop...however I REALLY REALLY want this color. It is just so gorgeous and it will be the perfect color for fall!

Confessions 6/24- A little perspective

Morning Everyone,

I confess that I kinda took a week off from blogging. It wasn't planned or anything. I just stopped posting last week. I think I needed a little time to re-evaluate.

I confess that part of the sudden break was that I had gotten my feelings hurt over not being included in the blogging "it" crowd. Ah well I was never in the cool crowd in high school either.

I confess that I had made a post that I worked really hard on...I put so much of my heart in to it...and it flopped. I was a little heartbroken about it....

I confess that it also hurts that my most popular posts are pretty generic run of the mill stuff....stuff I put together without much thought or time...yet they have thousands of hits while things I really cared about go basically unnoticed.

I also confess that taking the time off let me really start to think about what I want from this blog. Things I want to post about. Things I want to write about....and where I want this to go.

I confess that once I stopped to think about it I realized that I just want this to be a place for me to share things with you all. It might be tips, it might be recipes, it might just be what I did that day.

I confess that I'm done expecting this to be anything more than a sounding board for my own thoughts. I'm done waiting for THE post to break through.

I confess that I'm ready to just be happy with what I have and to just write because I love it.

Confessions 6/17

Good Morning Everyone,

It's time for confessions!

I'm seriously having so much trouble sleeping that I'm at the point I might as well just stay up all night until I finally fall down from exhaustion. #stress #shutupbrain

I've spent the last two days seriously cleaning and purging all the junk. I try to get it all out of the house before my husband sees the piles because he is the WORST at bring it back in because "we need it."

I have called out at least three people who have said "Jurassic World isn't realistic." Um duh? You do realize that this whole franchise is based on the idea that we brought dinosaurs back to life? Do you see any Triceratops in the park? BTW the movie was awesome.

I have about four blog posts that are in the draft folder that aren't done simply because I haven't taken the photos for them. Literally no other reason that photographer laziness. It's just so much to think about...lighting....angles...I know I should do it....

I almost deleted the whole blog last night. Just POOF gone. I seriously thought about it...but then I decided that I was just making a permanent decision based on a temporary emotion. Glad I took a break and thought about it first, otherwise where would the confessions go?

I haven't been reading/commenting much lately. Mostly because I'm kind of in a rut and also I have been working on cleaning the house. Also reading. Lots of reading.

Tuesday Tunes: My High School Playlist

Good Morning Everyone,

So I was cleaning out the basement yesterday (2015 is the year of the purge. I have gotten rid of so much stuff!) and happened upon my MASSIVE CD case. This was way back when CDs were cool and MP3s were not even really heard of yet.

Anyhow I took a browse through my case only to come across this gem:

I had no idea what was on this disc but apparently they were my Jamz (oh that z....) and I thought...hey wouldn't it be fun to show the entire world how ridiculous my taste in music was in high school? Thus this post was born.

Now I popped this thing into my computer and fired it up. I knew it was going to be good because of course Grace Note couldn't find the names of the songs. So I had to identify them myself as I listened along. Awesome.

I can feel your judgement.

It's okay. I was a weird kid and had strange taste in music, but basically I just liked about any genre as long as it sparked something. A lot of these songs were to get me going for a cheer-leading event or to help me write story scenes. I admit freely that some of them are ridiculous and yes I shook my head more than a few times in absolute shame for my younger self, but hey it is what it is!

Weekending 6/15

Good Morning Everyone,

This morning is starting slow due to being up WAY too late and not having any coffee in the house. Still I thought I would get up the weekend recap since I failed to do it last week!

Friday:
I decided to make doughnuts. I've never made them before and they turned out pretty awesome if I say so myself! Everyone seemed to enjoy them!

After my culinary triumph I headed to the library. I had a stack of holds come in and I was so excited to pick them up and start reading!

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing with Kyra and watching a whole lot of YouTube videos on Nerdy Nummies. I had no idea this was a thing and now I'm hooked.

Saturday:
My parents offered to watch Kyra so that Bobby and I could go see Jurassic World. We dropped her off at about 9am so that we could make the early 10:30 showing. Less crowds and it means that it only cost us ten bucks total to see it! SCORE.

The car always has the best lighting for selfies. I was actually taking this to check my lipstick.

The movie was amazing and I thought they did a really good job with the story line. Also Chris Pratt is tasty delicious. Hilarious, Adorable, and HOT. He did a great job as the Raptor Wrangler. If you get a chance GO SEE IT.

After the movie we did a little browsing at T.J. Maxx. I took silly photographic evidence for the blog...people were staring and looking at me like a crazy person. Eh Whatever. Still fun.

This little guy is REALLY happy to be a Popsicle.

Then we decided to go out and get lunch. We went to Q39, apparently it is now THE place for barbeque in the city. Now I don't eat enough barbeque to be the judge of that but I will say that the food was DELICIOUS.

This was mine. Q-burger. Brisket burger with onion straws. YUM.

Bobby's. Judge's Sampler. Pork, chicken, brisket. Again. YUM.

After lunch it was time to go and get Kyra. She was missing Mama!

Sunday:
We spent most of the day bathing the dogs and doing their summer flea/tick treatments. That took a lot of work and was stressful as all get out...but it's done.

After that the rest of the day was spent attempting to relax, watching Orange is the New Black Season 3 and finally watching the season finale of Game of Thrones, which was brutal. I won't give any spoilers but it was really heart wrenching to watch.
