Friday Favorites: Childhood Edition

Good Morning Everyone,

If you happened by the blog on Wednesday you would have seen my Childhood Confessions Post. If you haven't seen it then check it out here

Anyhow that post was so much fun that I thought I would go ahead and share my Childhood Favorites with you as well!

Here we go:

Favorite Toys:
My Little Pony
Vintage My Little Pony Twice As Fancy Sugarberry $7
I have over 800 of these. Not kidding. This particular one still smells like strawberries!

Smooshees
Smooshees!! Smooshees were produced by Fisher Price in 1988/89. Although it was a short lived series they certainly packed a lot in! Smooshees were fabric animals or dolls which came with a small accessory they could be smooshed into. There were also a few books and other related items produced.
The whole point was to stuff them into their little houses. Odd but fun.

Lil Miss Dolls
Li'l Miss Makeup! I wanted this for x-mas/Chanukah one year and my mom refused to buy it, but you better believe my sweet grandparents got it for me. Classic.
There was a whole line of these...makeup, hair, etc. I knew my makeup obsessions started young...These were the only "baby" dolls I really liked. I was more into stuffed animals and things.

Popples
35 awesome Toys every '80s girl wanted for Christmas. I'm pretty sure you and/or your sister had most of these!
Mine is actually Green and Orange but yeah these were awesome.

Little Tykes Toy Castle
LIttle Tikes Classic Castle! We have tons of little tikes play houses etc but this is the house favorite by far!!!
We had one of these in our living room for YEARS. So many sleepovers we spent inside the castle...That thing was AWESOME.

Favorite TV shows:
Classic Bugs Bunny
Witch Hazel From Bugs Bunny | Looney Tunes: Spotlight Collection Volume 5
This is one of my most favorite episodes. Abracadabra!

Dinosaucers
Dinosaucers = anthropomorphic dinos
Dinosaurs....From Outer Space....Seriously.

She-Ra
I loved She-Ra and He-Man...had all the action figures and I was She-Ra for Halloween one year.
Princess of Power. I wanted to be her when I grew up.

Care Bears
Ahhh... You are my care bear and I love you! The one with the heart....which made you different... You cared!! :-)
It's the Care Bear Countdown...5, 4,3,2,1!

Favorite Books:
Saddle Club Books
 The Saddle Club #6(Dude Ranch)

The Misty of Chincoteague Series

Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry ~ One of my most favorite books when I was little.

Dealing With Dragons

14 Amazing YA Books With Inspirational Heroines -- Dealing With Dragons?? MY FAVORITE.

Goosebumps Series

Goosebumps series by R.L Stine - read a lot of these when I was a kid but this was the first one I owned and read
Collected these EVERY month
Animorphs
Just check out this haul: | Can You Make It Through This Post Without Wanting To Be In 5th GradeAgain?
I have them all. Amazing Series.

Favorite Movies (This is a hard one so I'm just going to put some of the gems you may have forgotten about...or maybe never even heard of!)
Fluppy Dogs
This movie was AMAZING. Where did it disappear to?

Garfield's 9 Lives

This one was awesome...one of the stories still makes me cry.

Last Unicorn

The Last Unicorn (1982): I first saw this Rankin/Bass movie in college, and even without the childhood nostalgia I was hooked. Absolutely gorgeous and pretty faithful to the book. The soundtrack by America is sweet, too. :)
Still one of my Favorites but I'm amazed that I understood it since it is a pretty mature film really...ah well UNICORNS!

Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer
Ok, hear me out before you dismiss Rainbow Brite all together. I pinned it for one reason: "The Beginning of Rainbowland." The 2-part episode was a dark epic and completely unlike the rest of the show. Click to check it out.

Flight of Dragons

The Flight of Dragons. 1982 animated film produced by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin, Jr. and loosely combining the speculative natural history book of the same name (1979) by Peter Dickinson with the novel The Dragon and the George (1976) by Gordon R. Dickson
Another more mature one, but DRAGONS.

Those are just a few of my favorite things from childhood! See anything you remember? See any of your favorites on the list? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend everyone!
