What I Read: November 2015 Edition

It's time for the best linkup of the month!

1. Hunter by Mercedes Lackey- I have been a fan of Mercedes Lackey for a long time now and her Joust Series is one of my absolute favorites. So it was with very high hopes that I picked this one up. I will admit it started VERY slowly and it was a lot of world building but about halfway through I was HOOKED. I am actually screamed at the end when I realized that it didn't have enough time to finish so obviously it was going to be a series. I didn't want it to end. Will be getting the next one.

2. The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy- This one was just a random one that I picked up off a display at the library. I am so glad I did because this was amazing. Two little girls go missing and only one returns. She doesn't have a mark on her and she doesn't remember anything about what happened. Years later the strangeness starts all over again. This story was creepy and disturbing and had me really guessing as to who did what and just what was going on and if the supernatural had a role to play in the whole thing. Really enjoyed this one a lot.

3. The Fangirl's Guide to the Galaxy by Sam Maggs- I am kind of torn on this one. I'm a Fangirl and I love all things geek and I really wanted to enjoy this book. Parts of it were actually brilliant and really well done and other parts....well they just came off as condescending and stupid. I mean if you pick up this book more than likely you know Fandoms and geek life. Even if you aren't super geeky if you spend ANY time on the internet you are familiar with these things. So while I appreciated what they were going for it still came off a little snotty.

4. Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari- I am not sure what I was expecting with this book but I wasn't expecting a sociology experiment on dating. It was had some really funny parts but I'll be honest and the one thing I really took away from it was that I am SO GLAD that I'm not dating in the current world. Texting, Tinder, Facebook, Twitter........I got to miss all of that and I am so thankful. My dating life was utterly private and after reading (actually listening) to this book it really made me glad for that. However I am glad for those that have been able to find love because of those mediums and not been forced into being with just whoever happened to live nearby.

That was it for me last month! It was a rather slow month reading wise. Mostly that was due to all the running around that we did for the holiday but hopefully I will get back on track before the New Year starts!
