Unsent Letters

So I saw this post over on Jana's blog a while ago and I knew that I had to do one of my own!

Dear Keys,

Please stop hiding from me. I am exhausted from trying to find you...in my purse, on the table, even in the key bowl! Stop please, you are just delaying everything and setting my teeth on edge every time you pull this stunt.

Thanks,
Kimberly

Dear Cobwebs,

I swear I clean you all the time but you always make a grand appearance when I have guests over no matter what I do. Get out or start paying rent.

Thanks,
Kimberly

Dear Netflix,

Stop asking me if I am still watching after 3 episodes. You are meant for binge watching. That is the brilliant thing about you. No commercials, great content, no waiting! You are so wonderful and amazing but this stopping after every three episodes no matter the length of the show has to go. If you must ask then ask after the tenth episode because by then I might actually consider doing something else....but I doubt it.

Thanks,
Kimberly

Dear Phone Commercial with the guy that pours champagne on his phone,

You suck and this commercial is BEYOND stupid. Stop it. Just Stop it.

Thanks,
Kimberly

Dear Instagram,

Why did you ruin a good thing? You ruined us. I hate missing posts....I hate algorithms telling me what I like best. The new logo is ridiculous and looks childish. Also NOTIFICATIONS SUCK. I'm over it. I'm over you.

Thanks,
Kimberly

Dear Grass,

Please stop growing so much every time it rains. We mow, it rains, and the next day you are two foot tall again. This is not a jungle, you can't shoot up like that every few days! Seriously, Chill.

Thanks,
Kimberly

Friday Favorites 5/27

Good Morning Everyone,

It's Friday and that means it is time for some favorites.

Also I am thinking of doing some changes around the blog....So I made up a survey. If you would take a moment and just select what you would like to see on the blog I would SO appreciate it!

Now on with the favorites!

Beauty:
Spectrum merbabe makeup brush collection:
I cannot even express how much I need this in my life.

Metallic blue nails. Would you rock them?:
So bright and shiny!

Fashion:
"Muggles" by killjoy-sam on Polyvore featuring rag & bone
Yes I would wear this look all the time. No shame in my nerdy game.

Badass and Brilliant Coffee Mug : A Unique Gifts Website:
Okay so this isn't really fashion but damn I love this mug.

Nerdy Girl:
TOTORO Macbook decal Macbook Keyboard Decal Macbook by MaMoLIMITED, $13.99:
This will happen should I ever own my own computer and not one that my husband also uses for work stuff....

Hey, I found this really awesome Etsy listing at https://www.etsy.com/listing/180240538/a-wizardy-collection-of-copper-cookie:
WANT.

Funnies:
Nap time: the time of day when stay-and-work-at-home moms cook, clean, do laundry, meal plan, & get a full day of work done, all while thinking repeatedly, 'Please sleep longer, kid.':

Mermaids & Books - Siren:

Song of the Week: I love this song. I love this version...except the rap. Some wonderful soul on YouTube edited out the rap and now it sounds awesome! *Also the rap contains one line at the end "But you ain't never known someone like me before" or some nonsense and it completely negates the song. It doesn't matter WHO you are. YOU DON'T OWN ME.

Happy Friday Everyone! Have a great weekend!

Planet Comicon 2016 Recap

This year was the first con that my bestie Amanda had ever gone to and on Thursday night she came up in early ready for the fun to be had Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! Matt also came in Friday morning to spend the weekend and I was super excited to have our friends go with us and I was absolutely thrilled that it was Amanda's first con!

Friday: My mom offered to watch Kyra so that I could spend the day looking without having a little one to look after. It was really nice of her because I actually got to really look and just wander around to look at whatever I pleased. Friday is a great day to go because the crowd isn't as huge as it will be on Saturday and you can really walk around and get a good look at everything. I spent pretty much all of Friday looking at art and buying awesome goodies!

We got so many different art pieces but this one is one of my very favorites!

My Friday haul....Nerdy Nail Wraps, Supernatural Charm Bracelet, Piranha Plant Earrings, Key Necklace.

Saturday: This is always a big day at the Con and we knew it was going to be crowded. Kyra was with us this time but we were smart and brought the stroller so that she could take a break whenever she needed it. She was dressed as Rapunzel (after the haircut of course) and she loved all the attention she got for being such a cutie.

Amanda and I also dressed up. I wasn't in a full cosplay but I was in geek attire!
It was really fun to be dressed up and people kept complimenting my outfit which was really awesome.

There was also some truly amazing cosplay!

A pretty big chunk of my Saturday was spent waiting in line to meet Tom Felton aka Draco Malfoy. We waited about an hour and a half but it was totally worth it!

He was so sweet and really tried to spend a few moments with each person even though is line was crazy long.

He also signed the box for my Draco Malfoy replica wand. Slytherins for Life!

Sunday: My parents came along with us this time. My mom wanted to get Barbara Eden's (I Dream of Genie) autograph and also Lou Ferrigno (The HULK). Dad just loves to go and see all the leather workers and prop makers. He is a super creative person and this just fuels his inspiration for new projects.

I also took some pictures with the Impala from Supernatural!

Kyra was an adorable Snow White this day. SO CUTE. Amanda and I took her down to the children's play section while the guys finished shopping and took more pictures.
She loved this tiny R-2.

She wanted to kiss the alien.

All in all this was another AMAZING year at Planet Comicon. It felt a lot bigger this year and I am sure that it will continue to grow. I love getting to see all the amazing artists and honestly just feeling like I am among my people. It might sound weird to some...but it is totally where my tribe lives and I am going to miss them...until next time.

Confessions 5/25/16

I confess I go in to Comic Con with the best of intentions and a budget but always end up seeing the most awesome stuff and well...

I confess that a drinking game could be made out of how many Harley Quinns you see at the con...also Deadpools.

I confess that while I try to act super chill about meeting actors that I really admire when I actually meet them? No Chill. No chill at all. Starstruck.

I confess that Game of Thrones gave me all the feels this week. Seriously I am scarred for life......That was not OK. NOT OK.

I confess that this is going to be a short confession session because I have Comic Con on the brain and tomorrow's whole post is devoted to the recap!

Happy Humpday Everyone!

Guess Who's Back? Back Again?

Good Morning Everyone,

Apologies for being MIA from the blog for a bit.

After the funeral I was set to start blogging again but then I started all the prep for Planet Comicon and basically I got nothing written at all last week. Yesterday I took the day to basically recharge my batteries from a weekend of awesomeness, which by the way I will have a post on hopefully Thursday, and today I will be spending setting my house back to order and hopefully lots of writing.

I also apologize that I missed all your posts from the past few weeks. I tried to read a few but I had literally over 300 posts to go through and it just did my mind a solid by marking them all as read and starting fresh this week.

So here's to being back at the blog again! I've missed you.

If you don't follow me on other forms of social media then you probably have no idea where I have been and what has been going on this past week.

I apologize that I am so behind on comments and posting and basically life in general but this last week was a really long and hard week.

You may have seen (or may not) that a detective in Kansas City was shot and killed in the line of duty.

He was family.

He was my cousin's husband and he was a good man and a great father. I had just seen him a few days before at his youngest daughter's birthday party. He was laughing and playing with the kids.

The whole thing has just been tragic and heartbreaking.

However in spite of this horrible tragedy this city has shown nothing but support and love for his family and the turn out for his funeral....the sheer scale and magnitude of it....was astounding.

I was so moved by the compassion of this city.....I still cannot properly explain just what it meant...

All I can say is Thank You.

Thank You to the KCPD. You are all heroes in every sense of the word. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you Kansas City.

Thank you to my hometown of Weston.

Thank you KC Sporting.

Thank you to all of the officers, coordinators, citizens, basically EVERYONE that has been there every step of the way this week helping.

And lastly....

Brad....we will miss you terribly. May you rest now.

What I Read: April 2016 Edtion

It's the best linkup of the month!

Time to see what I read last month!

A Thousand Naked Strangers: A Paramedic's Wild Ride to the Edge and Back by Kevin Hazzard- I confess I picked this book up purely based on the title. I mean how can you pass a title like that up? This book was as a promised a wild ride. It is the true account of Mr. Hazzard's years spent as a paramedic and just a few of the cases he worked while on the job. Stories of overdoses, burnt out medics, crazy ambulance rides, and the apparently thrilling, Cardiac Arrest. From the moment he made his decision to become a paramedic and the less than a year training it took to get him prepared I was hooked. Mr. Hazzard writes with a dry humor that I can relate to and even writes the most gruesome stories with a humor that still made me laugh out loud even when I felt truly horrible for those that it affected. I learned a lot from this book and some of the stories will haunt me though definitely not as much as they haunt the author himself. I will say that if you have a weak stomach or are not into the medical field or weird medical cases then you might give this one a miss. However if you, like myself, are curious to know just what goes on during a paramedic call without having to actually go on one...pick this up!

How to be An American Housewife by Margaret Dilloway-  This story follows two women. Shoko who left her family when she married an American soldier and her daughter Sue. Shoko left her family when she married and American soldier after WWII, causing her brother to disown her. However when she becomes sick she sends her daughter on a mission to Japan to find her brother and tell him how much she misses him. This trip is eye opening for Sue who has always felt very distant from her mother feeling that she never lived up to her mother's expectations.  I loved reading about Shoko's life before she got married and left for America and how she when she arrived she tried to be the perfect American Housewife drawing her knowledge from a book of the same name despite the differences in her own upbringing. I also enjoyed learning more about Sue but it took a bit for me to really get into her character. Thankfully toward the second half of the book Sue really got to narrate and I appreciated her story line a lot more. A great read if you are like me and love Asian Culture or if you simply want to see what was expected of the "American Housewives" from the past.

I hope to get a lot more reading done this month as this was a pretty slow one (there were 3 books I just could not finish)  and I can't wait to see what you all read to make my reading list expand again!

Weekend Recap: Mother's Day 2016

Friday: Robert got home from work and we headed out to do a quick shop. He had to drop off a fuel card for some of his employees so we ended up going up north which we almost never do so it was a bit of an adventure. Mostly we were just trying to get out and about.

This little nugget was being adorable as usual.

I stopped by Ulta and picked up a mini polish set by OPI. It was the New Orleans set and I decided to get this one because I really wanted the Show Us Your Tips color and the Take a right on Bourbon and it just was more cost effective to buy the mini set. I am really glad I did because Show Us Your Tips ended up being a lot more sheer than I thought and while it works really well over another color it isn't exactly what I was hoping for, so yeah, glad I got the mini and saved some dollars.

Saturday: Robert's Mom, Stepdad, Brother, and his girlfriend all came over to celebrate Mother's Day at our place. Robert made dinner and I made dessert (and cleaned like a madwoman). It was a really nice visit and Kyra was in a great mood so everyone was just enjoying being together. Also the food was awesome Robert did an amazing job. Robert and Kyra also got me flowers and they are SO PRETTY.

Sunday: Robert said I could sleep in but that wasn't happening. He also offered to make breakfast but we were eating at noon at my parents' house so I passed. I wanted to save room since I knew that a yummy meal was going to be happening anyhow!

The food was of course delicious and I ate entirely too much of it and then the rest of the afternoon was spent just enjoying one another and being super chill and relaxed.

My parents also got me some Mother's day gifts and they were just wonderful!
Adorable flower pot with Kyra's hand prints! SO Sweet!  An Awesome owl mug. My favorite candy. A new makeup mirror!

After hanging out it was time to go home and watch Game of Thrones and Penny Dreadful and then it was bedtime! All in all it was a great weekend!

May Goals and Linkup!

1. Workout-I had this goal last month but I admit that I fell really short on it. This month I am shooting for 3x per week!

2. Use MyFitnessPal- In my effort to get healthy I am also going to be tracking my meals in MyFitnessPal again. It just helps keep me aware of just what I am eating!

3. Plan Kyra's 3rd Birthday- Kyra will be turning three in a month! I can hardly believe it and now I need to get on the ball an plan this party for my girl!

4. De-clutter- To get prepared for Kyra's party I need to seriously De-clutter some of her toys....it looks like we have five kids...not just one.

5. Planet Comic Con - I am so excited about this! I have to get prepared for the actual days (a lot of prep goes into a full weekend con!) and also have some other things that have to get taken care of as well before May 20th!!!

I'm linking up my goals this month in a new linkup! The What's New With You Linkup!  Be sure to join in!

INFJ Confessions

Today I thought I would share with you some confessions of my MBTI personality type- INFJ

I confess that I feel like I have a greater purpose. That I am meant to do SOMETHING.....but I have no idea what that something is....

Burdened with glorious purpose... | INFJ | Pinterest:

I confess along that line that I'm also a perfectionist to the point of procrastination. If I can't do it perfect then why even do it?

I confess that moderation does not come easily to me. I'm all in or I do not care at all....there really isn't an in between.

I confess that I want to be there to help people and humanity but I also feel like people suck the energy from me.

I confess that I am always wanting to go out and have fun but I also want to avoid people all together. I love isolation but yet I get lonely. It is SUPER confusing.

I feel whatever you are feeling. Seriously. Not Kidding. If you are down and feeling miserable I will immediately feel those feels. It's hard to be around people because I absorb their energy instantly.

I also remember lots of details and often have to play dumb to avoid freaking people out with what I know about them.

I confess that when I say that I'm "tired" I really mean that I am craving peace....not sleep.

I confess I have already scripted out our interaction at least twenty times before we meet up....and if it doesn't go according to script then I am flustered and awkward....it rarely goes according to script.

I confess that it bothers me that these points of my personality bother me. Yes. It bothers me that it bothers me.

Have you taken an MBTI personality test? Are you an introvert or extrovert?

Don't forget to link up with your confessions this week!
