Happy Friday Everyone! Apologies for the lack of post yesterday. I was busy getting tires put on the car and then catching up on a bunch of housework....also reading....lots of reading!

But now It's time for the Favorites! (Also it is the last Friday of August already! Where is the time going?!)

Confessions: 8/26

Good Morning Everyone, 


Time for Confessions! 


I confess that my insomnia lately is killing me. I go to bed early, exhausted, but then I lay there with my mind going like a mile a minute until it is like 3am. I have no idea why this happens but it happens for several nights a month. I need it to stop like now...

I confess that stress may be playing a part in the insomnia. Being an adult is the worst thing ever. Also apparently it costs $1400 dollars for super glue at the emergency room. Seriously eff being an adult and everything that comes with it. 

I confess that something is up with my blogger right now and it is making this post a beast to write/edit/add photos too. All the RAGE.

I confess that every few months or so I get the need to DO something. It happens when the need to be creative has been bottled up to long and suddenly I have to make something. Sometimes I write, sometimes I do crafts, yesterday I made Kyra a hat! 
 

I confess that it felt amazing to earn my Proclaimer Badge on my VivoFit. That's for hitting 500 miles walked. I was so scared back in April that I wouldn't reach it by Christmas and look here it is August and I'm there! I seriously love my VivoFit! 

 I confess when I get notifications in my email that one of my library holds becomes available I literally squee with joy. Give me ALL THE BOOKS.

Easy Games to Play (instead of CAH)

Good Morning Everyone,

It's no secret that I love Tabletop Gaming. 

Seriously we have gotten so far down the rabbit hole that I'm pretty sure we are past the point of no return. 

Today I thought I would share with you some of my favorite games that are both 1. Fun and 2. Easy. 

Also 3. They are not Cards Against Humanity. 

I have no issues with CAH. Actually I get a huge kick out of playing and basically all my friends are terrible human beings that love it as well. However I know it isn't for everyone and I know that sometimes you just don't feel up to playing CAH. So I have a few recommendations for you! 

1. Sushi Go! - This game is super quick and fun. Great for traveling as it comes in a handy(and ADORABLE) tin!  The object of this game is to grab the best combination of sushi dishes as they pass by. You score points by grabbing the best combos of sushi. Either gathering the most maki rolls, a set of sashimi, or matching a set of tempura. Also you want to be sure to collect dessert through all three rounds otherwise you will lose points at the end! A new game to our set but one of my favorites as it is so simple! But be warned you are going to CRAVE sushi by the end!

2. Dixit- This game gets really hilarious if you have inside jokes. Basically the first player describes a card in their hand. Each other player picks a card that they think fits the description. All the cards are put face down on the table and mixed up. Then they are flipped. All the other players try to pick the card of the first player. Points are awarded for those that guess correctly. However if someone picks your card instead of the first players card you get extra points for being sneaky!

3. Resistance- A game of lies and deception. Ever screamed(while laughing hysterically) "You are a LIAR AND A CHEAT!" at one of your friends? Well this is the game that makes that the most likely of scenarios.  Some characters are part of the resistance. Some are spies. You have to complete missions without the spies sabotaging you. Here is the kicker. You have NO CLUE as to who the spies are. You have to try to suss out who is a lying traitor and who is loyal. It's awesome.

4. Love Letter: Batman- This game is really fast paced and REALLY simple. Basically you are just trying to beat out each others hand by using the effects listed on the cards you have in your hand. Some just beat you out by the number value (think WAR) and some have other special effects that can take you out. It's Batman themed so therefore it is epic.

5. Gloom- I love this game. Each player gets a set of cards that make up a family. The object of the game is to make your family as miserable as possible and eventually kill them off. However you are also playing against the other players. They are trying to make their families miserable as well but they are also trying to make good things happen to your family thus taking away your points as you make them miserable. Once a family is deceased  you add up your misery points to see who won. The best aspect of this game is the stories that you tell as you explain how the tragedies outlined on the cards befell them. Very punny and hilarious. Tons of alliteration as well. Great for those with dark senses of humor like myself!

Weekend Recap 8/24

Good Morning Everyone,

Time for the Recap!

Friday: 
Amazingly enough the weather has been wonderful here lately. So Kyra and I spent pretty much the entire day outside drawing, relaxing, playing in her playhouse, and just enjoying the good life. Don't worry I COATED us with sunscreen!

Saturday: 
My brother D had mentioned that this thrift store had a TON of Halloween things out and that meant I had to go and check it out! There was a lot of stuff but I didn't pick up any Halloween things. Cool stuff but nothing that jumped out and said it had to go home with me.

After that we headed to Price Chopper yet again because we had guests coming over to start a new D&D campaign. While we were shopping I ran across these and had to snap a pic. Is there a great demand for these? What do you do with them? Is there some underground cactus loving movement happening that I am not aware of? 

Then the night was spent rocking out our nerdy life. We borrowed this massive amount of dice from Bobby's Dad and I just thought they looked so pretty in there. I also admit that I totally pick my dice according to how pretty I think they are!

Sunday: 
Lazy day since we had a pretty full day on Saturday. Bobby and Kyra took a nap and I got in a good amount of time on the treadmill and caught up on some YouTube videos. I also got some behind the scenes work done on the blog which is always such a relief/joy!

Thursday Thoughts 8/20

-Waking Up before Kyra~ Whenever I do this I get SO much done! Admittedly it is hard to do when she is all snuggled up with me but when I make the effort and get up the day is usually so much easier!

-A made bed~ My mom always had us make our beds when I was younger and now I get why. A made bed just looks so put together, even if the room isn't!

-Freshly vacuumed floor~ I cannot be the only one that loves the lines the vacuum makes on the carpet right? ....Right?

-Cute pajamas~ I am not sure why this makes me feel put together but it does. Maybe because if something happened and I had to run out in the middle of the night I would still look acceptable?

-Sock buns~ This is my go-to hair style for the summer time. Also it is the go-to when I am at home cleaning and want to feel like a real person. Sometimes being a SAHM makes it hard to remember what it felt like to get ready in the morning for work, putting my hair up in an easy and cute way makes me feel like I'm actually taking part in the day.

- Painted toenails~ My fingernails are rarely painted because they chip all the time when I am working around the house. However my toes are always painted! I love bright colors and every time I see them I just feel put together.

- Organized music playlists~ Yes I am the crazy person with a million playlists. Cleaning, Working, Writing, Moody, Happy, Dance Party....

- When my coffee is ready to go in the mornings and all I have to do is push the button

-Clean sheets and shaved legs~ The best feeling ever.

-My Nightly Log Book- I started this about a month and a half ago and now I will never look back. At the end of the day I write down important things to remember. Not just bill stuff but things that Kyra did that day. Something we cooked. Somewhere we went. Something sweet Bobby said. It brings me a sense of peace and reminds me how very lucky I am.

More Blogging Confessions

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'm going to do some more Blogging Confessions. Specifically things that irritate me about blogging and blogs in general. 

Here we go:

-I confess I hate blogging giveaways where you have to follow about ninety blogs to enter. One to three is fine but honestly....ten to twenty is just not worth my time. Seriously even for free stuff.

-Speaking of my feed. I LOATHE Bloglovin's sponsored posts popping up in the middle of my feed. I get it they need to make money blah blah blah but I hate it. I am aware of UGG boots. Seriously have been aware of them since 2009....I don't need an ad for them in my feed. Stop it. 

-I confess I love comments. I love to leave comments. But I really dislike Disqus comments sections. It never logs me in correctly. It always acts up and screws up my post. It's to the point that if I see you have one...I'm probably just gonna skip the comments.

- I confess it makes me so sad that there is no more Google Reader. I loved Google Reader. I only use Bloglovin because it was an easy transition. I don't like it though. It always screws up and isn't really user friendly in my opinion. Plus they play favorites with their "suggestions".

- I confess that Google Plus is stupid. Even YouTube knows this. Give it up. It's never going to happen.

-I confess that I get really sad when a blog goes full on sponsored. I started following you because I wanted to know about you. I wanted to know your story or I thought you were funny, or you were just plain informative. However when every post is suddenly sponsored...when you are pushing product...when you are constantly selling ad space...I stop following.Why did you do this? I know we all wanna make a buck but seriously? EVERY POST?

-I confess I don't like lack of closure when I blog just goes dark. Where did you go? Are you okay? Did something bad happen? I need something! I worry about those blogs that suddenly disappear and wonder about the people behind them....In my twelve years of blogging this has happened a lot. It always breaks my heart.

Cruel Summer Tag

Good Morning Everyone, 

It's time for a tag! 

I saw this tag over at Kay's Blog and I thought it looked like a lot of fun and thus I borrowed it! 

Here we go:

1. What's the hottest temperature it's ever reached where you live? Probably around 102 but with the humidity it usually feels like 110. Seriously it is so sticky and humid here.

2. Speaking of hot, how do you cool off in the summer? I avoid outdoors at all costs and if I must be outside you will find me near the water!

3. Summer is one of the best times to read. Give us your summer book recommendation! The Martian has gotten RAVE reviews from everyone I have recommended it to! Girl on the Train was pretty awesome and Steal Like an Artist has become a book I refer to nearly daily!

4. What's your favorite thing about summer where you live? Um...I'm really not a summer girl but I do love that everything is pretty green...no wait that is spring....I love all the town festivals and decorations! No...that is fall and winter.....yeah summer is not so much fun.

5. What's the number 1 thing on your summer bucket list? To stay in the air conditioning as much as possible? Or just going swimming as it is really the only part of summer I enjoy.

6. You're going on a girl's trip this weekend and you've rented a drop-top convertible. What's the first song you blast?
 Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. We are suckers for the 80's hits! 

7.  Summer is for glowing! What product do you use to get your bronze goddess on? I like NYC bronzer in Sunny for everyday glowy-ness, and for highlight I am now utterly in love with Jaclyn Hill's collab with Becca- Champagne Pop! 

8. What about lip products? Are you a lipstick, lipgloss or bar lips kind of girl? Lipstick or gloss. I am in love with matte liquid lips right now. I cannot wait for the Nyx Suede lips to get to Ulta!

9. How about nail polish? What nail polish can you not get enough of during the summer? I love nail polish! This summer I am all about blues and currently sea foam green!!!

10. This or that?

Bonfire or swimming? Swimming
Pool or beach? If I'm at the beach it means I'm on vacation so yay beach! However I prefer to swim at the pool! 
Icecream or popsicles? Icecream
Bikini or a one piece? One piece
Sporting event or music festival? Neither? I dislike being out around people and in the heat....
Maxis or sundresses? Sundress

11. Dream summer vacation on me! Where are you going? Probably New Zealand or Australia. Or the Harry Potter tour in London!

12. Got any summer traditions? Not so much. We may go to the zoo or something like that but honestly I spend most of my summers indoors either reading or writing!
