Friday Favorites: Childhood Edition

Good Morning Everyone,

If you happened by the blog on Wednesday you would have seen my Childhood Confessions Post. If you haven't seen it then check it out here

Anyhow that post was so much fun that I thought I would go ahead and share my Childhood Favorites with you as well!

Here we go:

Favorite Toys:
My Little Pony
Vintage My Little Pony Twice As Fancy Sugarberry $7
I have over 800 of these. Not kidding. This particular one still smells like strawberries!

Smooshees
Smooshees!! Smooshees were produced by Fisher Price in 1988/89. Although it was a short lived series they certainly packed a lot in! Smooshees were fabric animals or dolls which came with a small accessory they could be smooshed into. There were also a few books and other related items produced.
The whole point was to stuff them into their little houses. Odd but fun.

Lil Miss Dolls
Li'l Miss Makeup! I wanted this for x-mas/Chanukah one year and my mom refused to buy it, but you better believe my sweet grandparents got it for me. Classic.
There was a whole line of these...makeup, hair, etc. I knew my makeup obsessions started young...These were the only "baby" dolls I really liked. I was more into stuffed animals and things.

Popples
35 awesome Toys every '80s girl wanted for Christmas. I'm pretty sure you and/or your sister had most of these!
Mine is actually Green and Orange but yeah these were awesome.

Little Tykes Toy Castle
LIttle Tikes Classic Castle! We have tons of little tikes play houses etc but this is the house favorite by far!!!
We had one of these in our living room for YEARS. So many sleepovers we spent inside the castle...That thing was AWESOME.

Favorite TV shows:
Classic Bugs Bunny
Witch Hazel From Bugs Bunny | Looney Tunes: Spotlight Collection Volume 5
This is one of my most favorite episodes. Abracadabra!

Dinosaucers
Dinosaucers = anthropomorphic dinos
Dinosaurs....From Outer Space....Seriously.

She-Ra
I loved She-Ra and He-Man...had all the action figures and I was She-Ra for Halloween one year.
Princess of Power. I wanted to be her when I grew up.

Care Bears
Ahhh... You are my care bear and I love you! The one with the heart....which made you different... You cared!! :-)
It's the Care Bear Countdown...5, 4,3,2,1!

Favorite Books:
Saddle Club Books
 The Saddle Club #6(Dude Ranch)

The Misty of Chincoteague Series

Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry ~ One of my most favorite books when I was little.

Dealing With Dragons

14 Amazing YA Books With Inspirational Heroines -- Dealing With Dragons?? MY FAVORITE.

Goosebumps Series

Goosebumps series by R.L Stine - read a lot of these when I was a kid but this was the first one I owned and read
Collected these EVERY month
Animorphs
Just check out this haul: | Can You Make It Through This Post Without Wanting To Be In 5th GradeAgain?
I have them all. Amazing Series.

Favorite Movies (This is a hard one so I'm just going to put some of the gems you may have forgotten about...or maybe never even heard of!)
Fluppy Dogs
This movie was AMAZING. Where did it disappear to?

Garfield's 9 Lives

This one was awesome...one of the stories still makes me cry.

Last Unicorn

The Last Unicorn (1982): I first saw this Rankin/Bass movie in college, and even without the childhood nostalgia I was hooked. Absolutely gorgeous and pretty faithful to the book. The soundtrack by America is sweet, too. :)
Still one of my Favorites but I'm amazed that I understood it since it is a pretty mature film really...ah well UNICORNS!

Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer
Ok, hear me out before you dismiss Rainbow Brite all together. I pinned it for one reason: "The Beginning of Rainbowland." The 2-part episode was a dark epic and completely unlike the rest of the show. Click to check it out.

Flight of Dragons

The Flight of Dragons. 1982 animated film produced by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin, Jr. and loosely combining the speculative natural history book of the same name (1979) by Peter Dickinson with the novel The Dragon and the George (1976) by Gordon R. Dickson
Another more mature one, but DRAGONS.

Those are just a few of my favorite things from childhood! See anything you remember? See any of your favorites on the list? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Confessions: Childhood Edition

Good Morning Everyone,

It's Wednesday Confession Day and today I am doing a special Childhood Edition!

We all do crazy things as kids today I'm gonna share with all of you a few of the things that I did!

I confess that at one point as a child I was convinced that when I turned 16 I would magically turn into a horse or unicorn. I have no idea why I thought this but I was certain of it.

I confess my belief was only further encouraged when my mom bought Mane and Tail shampoo. She just bought it because it was supposed to be good for your hair. I was convinced it was because she could turn into a horse but couldn't tell me until I was old enough.

I confess that I used to tape Saturday Morning Cartoons every Saturday. I would tape from 6am to 12pm. Including commercials because you couldn't skip those in olden times. I memorized them all. Even the commercials. I still know them word for word.

I confess that my best friend and I were obsessed with a tape that was called Dinosaurs. It starred Fred Savage as a very young man and it was hilarious and ridiculous. We used to fight over who was the pink dinosaur. We were so cool.

This is the movie...ah Clay-mation....

I confess that I ended every song with the words "All Day". Sung of course. I still do this with childhood songs. I can't help it.

My cousins and I used to play a game called "Crocodile Soup" which is basically the game "The floor is Lava" but with Crocodiles and you had to make it across the swingset without touching the ground. It was awesome.

So there are a few of my childhood confessions. Were you as weird a kid as I was? Let me know in the comments! Also be sure to join the linkup!

#ShareYourUgly

Good Morning Everyone,

This was not the post scheduled for today but ever since Jana posted this hashtag last week and made her blog post about it I've been thinking about it. Also yesterday was absolutely a mess. Actually it was beyond mess...it was...awful.

So instead of the post I originally had I'm going to instead share my ugly with you.

I am so overwhelmed and I feel like an absolute failure as a person and adult. I feel this on an almost daily basis anymore.

I have a stack of papers on a shelf that need to be gone through. Most likely they are bills that I will have to decide who gets paid and who goes without this month.

I have a dishwasher that has been broken for two years and a landlord that gives no fucks about it. It's basically just a drying rack now.

My living room is a mess of toys and crayon wrappers. I haven't vacuumed since last Thursday.

My bedroom looks like a bomb went off. My husband just throws his clothes wherever he feels like and they are all over. Kyra's papers are all over the floor. Also about 12 balls of yarn are scattered around from where Kyra got into them a week ago and I haven't gotten around to picking them up.

The carpet leading downstairs is torn apart and pretty much ruined because Luna got bored one day and now it is in shreds.

There are cobwebs hanging from my ceiling that I cannot reach.

I'm having a garage sale this weekend and Kyra's birthday party the following weekend and I'm not prepared for either. Not physically prepared or mentally prepared. I kinda just wanna lay down and cry.

Kyra had an accident in her car seat yesterday and I have no idea how to remove the lining so I can wash it. Can I wash it? My car smells.

Speaking of my car I need new tires, I need to take it in to be checked over as it is having issues, I can't afford to do either.

My eyebrows are so hairy scary that I don't even want to look at my face.

Summertime always brings out my worst fears and loathing of my body. I hate the heat. I hate the clothes. I wish I could live in a parka and pajama pants.

I have exactly 2 girlfriends in my life and one is halfway across the country and the other is halfway across the state. I'm so lonely. I have no one to share any of my fears and doubts with.

I am so drained from this past weekend that I don't want to do anything. I don't want to talk, I don't want to move, I just want to lie in bed and sleep. I can't do these things. I have a little girl that needs my attention, I have a house that is in shambles, and since I'm the one that chose to stay home...it's apparently ALL my responsibility. I feel like a failure for even thinking that anyone should help me....

So there you have it. All the ugly that is going on in my head, in my life, behind the blog. I try to keep it cheerful here and I try to keep it light but honestly after reading Jana's post I just wanted to put these things out there so that others know...it's not always cheerful and light. I'm not always a little ball of sunshine and smiles....even if that is what other people want me to be.

So I encourage you to join in. #ShareYourUgly

Chaos by the Numbers

Good Morning Everyone,

Today's post is inspired by one that Brianne did and the Steph also did! I thought it was a fun type of post and I wanted to see what some of my numbers were!

First off I need to explain that the number 12 is my number. It comes up all the time. It's my favorite number. Just look....

12- years we've been together this year
(Taken at After Prom 2003. We are babies.)

12- years I've been out of school

12- The month I was born (24 is of course the double of 12 and I was born on the 24th day)

Now for some other numbers!

4- Devices my husband has to carry for work (2 phones and 2 pagers)

1- Broken Bone

3- Dogs of my own

6-Dogs at my parents' house (5 of which I'm to blame for...or thank for!!)

3- Years we've been married

28- Eyeshadow pallets in my vanity

Confessions of an Introvert

Good Morning Everyone,

Today's confessions are going to be a bit different. Today I'm going to confess my introverted secrets.

Here we go:

I confess that I avoid certain things because I become overly obsessed with them. I'm talking TV series, book series, games....once I latch on to something I give my absolute full attention to it and neglect everything else in my life. Thus I try to be very particular about the things I allow myself to get into.

I confess that I have to have DAYS after a party/social event to recharge properly. This is getting slightly better now that I have Kyra and I have to be attentive at all times but it also means that I feel pretty drained most of the time.

I confess that I like being around people and I love my friends but I am not always up for socializing.

I confess that I avoid Reality TV shows most of the time because I feel all of the tension and anxiety from the shouting and hostility.

I screen my calls and will always choose texting if it is an option. I hate answering the phone and at times it can actually give me a panic attack.

I confess to spending a lot of time in my own thoughts. I just can't help it.

I confess that being a Mom has been a struggle with my introverted self. I need space and time alone. I need quiet and time for my own thoughts and head space. Thankfully I have you all and the blog so I have the chance to decompress and express my feelings in a quiet and thoughtful way.

Would you all be interested in more introverted confessions? I have actually been working on a Meyers-Briggs personality post but have been putting it off....I'm testing the waters with this one first!

Don't forget to join the linkup!
